Amion for Enterprises Hospital-wide scheduling Contacts Stuart Karon Founder & Owner Email: stuart@amion.com Tel: 802.649.1911 Carol Philips Cumming Sales & Marketing Email: carol@amion.com Tel: 301.767.1675 Lee Sylvestre Support & Training Email: lee@amon.com Tel: 203.488.2817 www.amion.com About Amion Amion builds physician schedules and streamlines schedule access and paging across an entire hospital. Amion provides a fluid, easy-to-access place for switchboard operators, medical staff and schedulers to communicate. Switchboard operators and other staff look up who's on call from the complete coverage list at Amion. Click a pager number to send a text or numeric message directly from the schedule. Switchboard staff pull up additional contact information, including home, cell and office numbers. Page operators manage last-minute changes by marking up the on-call roster with notes and sign-outs. Operators view logs of recent messages sent through Amion to any pager. Medical staff submit day-off requests and swap shifts online. They also synch Amion schedules with PDA and other online calendars. Schedulers use the Amion schedule builder (OnCall) to retrieve requests, grant vacation time, and build schedules around staff availability. A few mouse clicks publishes schedules at Amion.com where staff view assignments. Each group of providers keeps its schedule up to date, or you can designate central staff to build and update schedules. Additional tools include the Amion programming interface that lets other software vendors and hospitals draw schedule data from Amion into their own applications.

Optional local hosting provides extra security and reliability for organizations where 100% uptime is critical. Amion is used by many healthcare systems, teaching hospitals, military and VA facilities, and other medical organizations who require a central on-call contact system populated automatically from individual group schedules. Thousands of individual physician groups and residency programs rely on Amion for building schedules and making schedules available online. Licensing, support & implementation Amion enterprise licenses cover a hospital or other facility with multiple schedules, add special enterprise-wide features to Amion, and display all schedules in one central oncall list. Enterprise Support provides full help-desk service and online training to schedulers. It is included with all new Enterprise accounts. The number of groups in your account determines the annual fee. No. of groups in the Enterprise license 2 to 19 $424 20-29 $400 30-39 $387 40-49 $374 50-59 $362 60+ $350 Fee per group/year Local hosting adds $1000-$3000 to the annual license depending on the number of schedules in your account. You host the Amion software on your local intranet server. Our site is used as a back-up for your schedules. With Amion you assign extra privileges to certain staff through Switchboard Accounts. Any page operator or other key person who needs to sign out staff, add notes to the central on-call list or view additional contact information (cell or home phone #s, paging service #s) can be assigned a switchboard account. These are added to your Enterprise license at a per-user fee equal to your schedule fee. With your Amion for Enterprise licenses you receive implementation guidance, access to premium features such as department notes, extra-staff directories and access

to customization and help with programming-interface data feeds from Amion. Amion is mostly an off-the-shelf system and you can be up and running shortly after you give us the word to go ahead. The majority of time involved in implementation will be in training schedulers to use the scheduling tool. That can happen as quickly as you can arrange the training sessions. See our Implementation Guide at www.amion.com/implementation_2010.pdf for a complete checklist of actions you may need to complete to roll out the system. An Enterprise with 60 schedules can expect to complete the implementation within 3 to 4 months of signing on. With a few days on onsite training, the process can go more quickly. Unique features For attending schedules, Amion helps schedulers make assignments, track day-off requests, log vacation and sick days, and compute tallies to make sure everyone gets a fair number of days on call. An autoscheduler and template tools help generate a schedule quickly and fairly; or users can enter and edit assignments individually. It allows for full vs. part-time workers, watches for shifts that overlap and flags conflicts, and much more. Amion is the only commercial application that handles all the complexities of medical resident schedules, from blocking out rotation schedules, to resident clinics (including features for automatically canceling post-call clinics and assigning clinics based on the rotations people are doing), to shift schedules for an ED, and on-call schedules. It helps residencies keep track of resident duty hours relative to ACGME regulations. For hospital schedules, Amion offers a unique suite of scheduling and communication tools. The Enterprise system integrates all schedules into a single, hospital-wide online display. The schedules at Amion are ideal for providers to look up whom to call for consults and admissions. They also automate call-center schedule look-up and staff paging. Enterprise sites Our first Enterprise customers in 2002 were Regions Hospital in St Paul, MN (part of Health Partners) and the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. Both hospitals use Amion for attending and residency schedules. Their telecom staff rely on the central call lists for routing phone calls and paging staff. Since then many other sites have signed on including Cogent Healthcare, Hennepin Medical Center, Rockwood Clinic, Scotland Health, UCSF Medical Center, U of Colorado, Kadlec Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, Care New England, Fallon

Clinic, Maine Medical Center, St Vincent s, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Naples Community Hospital, Group Health Cooperative, Pennock Health, Elmhurst Hospital, Jacobi Hospital, Travis AFB, Nellis AFB, U of New Mexico Hospitals, Seton, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Temple U. and many others. Many GME departments at teaching hospitals use Amion for all residency schedules including University of Washington, UCLA, Wilford Hall (LAFB), Howard University Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital and all Los Angeles County hospitals (USC, Harbor, MLK, Olive View). While other sites may not have standardized entirely on Amion, a large percentage (70+%) of teaching hospitals in the U.S. have their biggest residency programs online with us. Amion is used by thousands of individual residency programs, private practices, clinics and attending groups in virtually every healthcare setting. Onsite training On-site training is as follows excluding expenses: Number of days per booked session Per day including expenses Total 1 $1750 $1750 + flights, travel, hotel, etc. 2 $1500 $3000 + expenses as above 3 $1500 $4500 + expenses For training all schedulers and departments, we recommend some on-site training during the initial implementation, depending on your training culture, but can also handle everything over the Internet. Many sites work to a deadline in implementing the system, and full support is highly recommended for these sites. We can schedule online training to your users to fit in with their schedules. Routine support is by telephone and email during Spiral Software office hours from 8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time. Staff is available to handle critical problems outside regular office hours by email. We answer support email usually within a few hours and we are readily available by phone, with direct lines to key personnel. You won t have to wade through annoying

phone systems or wait on hold for help. While rare, critical problems specific to one customer s online schedules do sometimes arise. We do our best to fix critical problems with appropriate speed. Quality & reliability Amion.com has a 99.9% uptime. Enterprise customers may opt to host the Amion server display in-house. Local hosting provides a complete copy of the Amion display on your server and all schedule data is mirrored between your server and ours. If your hospital loses access to the Internet or our server becomes inaccessible for a period of time, staff could continue to access schedule information through your local server. Hosting the Amion display locally gives you more control over updates. We update our server several times a week and having a mirror copy of the server running internally gives you a more stable working environment. Development & customization Amion is a very flexible and should not require customization for specific group schedules. With help from customer suggestions, we are always improving the software. We ll work with any customer who wants to see Amion become an even better site-wide tool. We do not usually charge for minor new-feature work since the enhancements benefit everyone, but we can quote on special modules that may be required of your organization. We work with software vendors on interfaces to take Amion data into other applications used by our customers and have a programming interface tool which allows customers and other vendors to pull data from the online schedules. About Spiral Software Spiral Software started up in 1989 with EasyPlot, a graphing program developed at MIT by Stuart Karon. In 1989, Stuart licensed his EasyPlot software and founded Spiral Software. In 1998, Spiral Software created OnCall, a tool for building resident schedules. A few years later, we tailored OnCall for faculty and other medical providers. At around the same time, we added the Amion.com web site for posting schedules. In 2002 the Amion Enterprise system went online for organizing any number of schedules into a whole-hospital display. Since then we've added switchboard tools, integrated paging, page logs, and much more.

Spiral Software is a privately held company and has been profitable since its founding, posting strong year-over-year growth.
