GENERAL, CONNECTING The terrestrial cassette HRM 391 TWIN This cassette is controlled by the GRUNDIG head stations STC 80, STC 880, STC 1200 or STC 332. Note: Please observe that when equipping existing head stations with new cassettes it might be necessary to exchange the microprocessor in the control unit. This cassette requires a control unit with the following software version: STC 80 or 880:.29 or higher, STC 1200:.06 or higher, STC 332: V.10 or higher. It is possible to call up and to display the software version of the microprocessor as follows. 1 Press and hold down the + und MODE button at the same time until the following occurs: The display turns dark. After about 5 seconds appears, for example, XXXXX-XXX.06 (= Part-No.), the last two digits indicating the software version,.06 in the example. This cassette contains 2 channel sets (A and B). A channel set consists of a terrestrial tuner, the circuits for processing the video and audio signals, and a mixer for processing one TV channel. The 2 channel sets of one cassette are indicated as Box A and Box B in the display of the control unit. The two input signals are converted according to the cassette specification, then unified in a combiner and passed via an RF output socket to the RF collector. The common output level (channel sets A and B) of the twin cassette can be adjusted by means of the mechanical level control (max. 20 db) on the output collector. Installing the cassette into the head station and connecting Caution! Before fitting a new cassette or replacing an existing one, it is absolutely necessary to disconnect the mains plug from the head station. 1 Plug the cassette into a free extension slot of the head station and fix it. 2 Connect the two TV input cables. 3 Reconnect the head station to the mains power supply. 4 The cassette is now connected with all necessary supply voltages, data lines and ready for use. 4
