Growth Drivers of Digital Banking Channels Globally, there are 5 billion mobile phone users, which is 2.5x the number of bank accounts. Meeting the needs of the unbanked is a huge growth driver. Economic growth in Asia will drive the region from 25% of world economic output today, to over 50% by 2050. Customer preferences are changing and a generational shift in behavior is driving to new digital channels. Internet of Things (IoT) RFID-enabled devices supporting digital channel authentication, Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer and payments Smart watches, biometrics helping loan underwriting, insurance, etc. 2
