Micro-Applications Mobilize your Customers and Vendors The Sky MEAP platform can be extended beyond internal mobility, to easily and securely deploy targeted functionality to the outside world for example, your customers and vendors. This style of mobile application is commonly known in the industry as Micro-Apps. Some Examples of this are: Vendor Management Inventory (VIM) Billing, Credit position, etc. Orders and delivery lists / status Inquiries: ATP, Price, Consignment, etc. Customers and vendors can download adaptive and context aware applets that improve the quality and flow of information i.e. offer intelligent insight and interfaces into your back end systems. This significantly improves productivity and communication, resulting in tangible benefits.
Deployment Options Applications can be deployed in two very different models, either installed directly into the customers environment (on premise) or run out of the Sky Cloud (Mobility as a Service). On premise suites more strategic ;self managed applications, while the Sky Cloud suites more standard fully hosted requirements. You could even have a mixture of the two. Mobility as a Service In this configuration, the customer applications are provisioned and managed out of the Sky Cloud. Sky is responsible for the application and data all the way from the Sky Application Server (container) on the device to the integration touch points on the customer back end systems. Customers may utilize either the standard Sky business suite functionality, or opt for their own customized private application. All application processes and data are made totally secure through encryption, identity management and secure tunnels. Payment is based on a per user / capacity rental model and there are options to interface with the telecommunication providers billing service i.e. single bill. Portals are provided by Sky for customers to monitor their own connections, applications and interfaces. Advantages: Totally managed hosted mobile service, based on an agreed SLA: No need for mobile infrastructure on premise No need for inhouse application development and support skills Secure, robust, high availability infrastructure No upgrade costs Subscription (rental) payment model i.e. low on ramp cost.

The MEAP may be implemented either as a stand alone remote server, or in the case of SAP, locally inside the ERP or CRM environments. This option generally suites strategic enterprise implementations that have the resources required to manage their own mobile infrastructure and applications. Payment is based on a license to use model with an annual maintenance component.
