Assist educators in implementing safe, healthy classroom and school environments; Teach parenting skills, problem-solving strategies, substance abuse, and other topics pertinent to healthy schools; Conduct research about effective instruction, behavior management, alternative school programs, and mental health interventions; Assess and evaluate the wide variety of school-related problems and assets of children and youth in assigned schools; Intervene directly with students and families through individual counseling, support groups, and skills training; Serve as a member of interdisciplinary teams to address needs of at-risk students and to serve the needs of students with disabilities through the special education assessment, eligibility, and placement process. Duration of the course One year external, distance learning or online education (12months) Requirement for Admission Post graduation in Psychology (10+2+ 3+2 years of study) Post graduation in subjects other than psychology can do an integrated PG Diploma course which will have two papers of psychology additional to regular PG Diploma curriculum. Learning Highlights The curriculum for the School Psychology program is designed to prepare students to be effective entry level professionals in a variety of educational settings. This program prepares professionals to work in the elementary, middle, and high school levels and consists of a focus on human growth and development, social and cultural foundations, helping relationships, group work, career and lifestyle development, appraisal, research, program evaluation and professional orientation, including ethics and professional standards. child/adolescent psychopathology, and social/cultural foundations of behavior), assessment (intelligence, achievement, early childhood, and personality), intervention (counseling, consultation, interventions), and professional studies (professional school psychology, ethics and standards, foundations of education). Students are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to foster learning and social development. There are opportunities within the program to develop special competencies in areas that include behavior problems of children and adolescents, neuropsychological assessment, and special needs populations. Course Structure Your course will contain eight modules Four compulsory modules Three optional papers One pragmatic paper & dissertation at the end of the course All the modules will have 45 days time to complete The dissertation will have 45 days time to complete and will be done at the end of the course Books and other required resources materials will be sent to you well before the start of the concerned paper Resource materials and books will be sent either as hard copies or soft copies depending up on the guide s instruction and availability A guide will be allotted and he/ she will be supporting the student in completing each paper/ module and the dissertation successfully Dissertation can be done as an empirical data study or a theoretical study.
