Sportek, LLC/Red Line Bass Trail Rules and Regulations 1.) PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: This is an open invitation tournament/trail to all fishermen, ages 16 and up. All participants must have a valid fishing license for the waters that are to be fished. DURING COMPETITION DAYS OF ANY SPORTEK, LLC/RED LINE BASS TRAIL EVENT NO CONTESTANT MAY OPERATE A BOAT UNLESS THAT CONTESTANT HAS DOCUMENTED PROOF OF INSURANCE POLICY IN FORCE, THAT COVER EVENT DATES. PROOF OF INSURANCE MUST BE WITH THE BOAT BEING USED AND MUST COVER THE COMPETITOR(S) USING THAT BOAT. EACH POLICY MUST SHOW $50,000 LIABILITY AND A VALID EXPIRATION DATE. FAILURE TO PROVIDE INSURANCE WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION. (NOTE: Tournament officials reserve the right to refuse entry based on statements above.) 2.) PRE-TOURNAMENT PRACTICE: Amount of pre-fishing time will be unlimited up until the pre-tournament registration meeting (TBD). All pre-fishing must cease thereafter leading up to the tournament. 3.) TOURNAMENT HOURS: Regular tournament hours are 7:00am 3:30pm on tournament days (based on amount of boat entries). All anglers must have boat inspected, in the water, and be ready for launch by 6:30am. ANY BOATERS NOT ON THE WATER BEFORE THE 6:30am DEADLINE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED. REGISTRATION/TOURNAMENT FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Any changes will be announced in advance. (NOTE: Tournament officials reserve the right to deny/accept tardiness at their own discretion.) 4.) REGISTRATION AND TOURNAMENT FEE: Registration can be completed, signed, and emailed prior to tournament. Tournament fee is $300 per boat/$150 per angler. Big bass is an optional $20. We strongly suggest you find a partner that will be able to fish with you throughout the trail. If a co-angler has to drop out for whatever reason, the new co-angler may not be comprised of other boaters that have previously registered with another team in this trail. New co-anglers will have to be pulled in from an outside pool. (Note: tournament fees are subject to change.) 5.) BOAT PROBLEMS: Boat problems are the responsibility of the boat owner. Before we launch, if an angler has boat problems, the angler has a choice to pull from the tournament. The angler s entry fee will be refunded. If the angler decides to launch and fish, then their entry fee will not be refunded. No exceptions. 6.) TACKLE: Only artificial baits are allowed. No trolling of lures is permitted. Only one line with one lure is permitted for each angler. Alabama or Umbrella rigs will not be permitted. 7.) HORSEPOWER REGULATIONS: Maximum horsepower for all outboard motors used in competition shall not exceed 300hp. Falsifying information on the registration form or any altering of the horsepower rating numbers on the motor will be grounds for immediate disqualification.
8.) LIVEWELLS: All boats are required to have operating live wells: either re-circulating or flow through. 9.) BASIC BOAT SAFETY & EQUIPMENT: All boats will be required to have enough US Coast Guard approved life jackets/floatation devices for all competitors on board said boat. Life jackets or PFDs must be worn by every angler while the outboard motor is running. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND FUTURE TOURNAMENT PARTICIPATION EXEMPTION WITH SPORTEK, LLC/RED LINE BASS TRAIL AND THEIR AFFILIATES EVENTS. FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Every boat must also have working navigation lights in case of visibility issues due to time of day or inclement weather. 10.) OFF-LIMIT FISHING LOCATIONS: Courtesy will be observed while fishing same shorelines. Anglers must exhibit good sportsmanship and maintain a casting distance from other contestant boats at all times during tournament. No angler s boat can leave the water during tournament hours. At no time can an angler leave their boat to fish or land fish. Any anglers who leave the boat to fish or land/net a fish will be automatically disqualified. 11.) NO-WAKE RULE: Boaters will not pass up other boats when approaching or in a no-wake zone. Boater must maintain no-wake speed/limit and obey posted speed restrictions. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND FUTURE TOURNAMENT PARTICIPATION EXEMPTION WITH SPORTEK, LLC/RED LINE BASS TRAIL AND THEIR AFFILIATES EVENTS. FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Please exercise safe driving practices when in close quarters of other boats. 12.) PHONE USAGE: CB s, cell phones, etc., are to be used for emergency only. 13.) OFFICIAL CHECKPOINT: Each angler must have their boat checked by the tournament director or designated check-in official prior to launch. If you anticipate a late arrival, please contact the tournament director immediately. 14.) LATE PENALTY: We will launch on time. If you are running late due to an emergency, please contact the tournament director immediately. A decision will then be made at his discretion. Late anglers will come into weigh-in at the same time as all other boats or their designated weigh in time according to flight number. ANY ANGLER NOT CHECKED IN FOR WEIGH-IN AT THE SPECIFIED TIME WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Boat problems are the responsibility of each angler. Angler(s) must take into consideration tow time if they need to be towed in order to make check-in. This same rule applies to other anglers providing the towing. Anglers are encouraged to be at check-in to weigh-in 10 minutes early. LATE PENALTIES FOR WEIGH-IN ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1.) 1 lb penalty per minute late; 2.) 15 OR MORE MINUTES LATE IS AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION. FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. 15.) WEIGH-INS: Weigh-ins will be aired live on our website. ALL PHOTOS AND VIDEO RECORDINGS CONDUCTED DURING THE COMPETITION ARE PROPERTY OF SPORTEK, LLC/RED LINE BASS TRAIL. ANY USE OR REPRODUCTION WITHOUT WRITTEN CONSENT FROM SPORTEK, LLC/RED LINE BASS TRAIL MAY RESULT IN LEGAL ACTION. Weigh-in will start promptly at 3pm. Make sure to check-in with a tournament official prior to this time. 16.) SCORING: Only Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass (if the body of water permits) will be weighed, with five (5) fish limit per boat. There will be a 12-inch minimum length limit per fish or 14 inch if required by the state
regulations. Any short fish weighed in will not be included in the total weight. Penalties will include a one pound deduction from the total weight, along with the loss of your biggest fish for that day. All measured fish will be closed-mouth and pinched or fanned tail for measuring. Any angler weighing in more than the tournament limit of 5 fish or amount of fish permitted at the contest, will weigh in instead the total weight of their 5 smallest fish. Once your bag is given to the weigh master it becomes official. Fish dumped into the weigh-in basket becomes official. For any dead fish, a penalty of 1 lb of the dead fish s weight will be deducted. No dead fish will be included in the big fish pot or included in tie breakers. Any bass presented for weigh in that shows signs of being on a stringer, caging, out of the ordinary condition or coloring will not be weighed. 17.) TIES: Four levels of tie breakers will be used in this order: 1.) Number of fish; 2.) Largest fish; 3.) Largest single-day catch from day one of the tournament; 4.) Coin flip (if applicable). FOR AOY (Angler Of The Year) Four levels of tie breakers will be used in this order: 1.) Total number of fish caught in the trail; 2.) Largest fish caught on any day of any tournament fished in the trail; 3.) Largest single-day catch from any day of the trail; 4.) Coin flip (if applicable). 18.) PATCHES AND/OR SIGNAGE: Sportek, LLC/Red Line Bass Trail encourages the use of patches, logos, jerseys, and other various signages to promote sponsors. Realizing we are in a media/sponsorship/partnership field that may sometimes restrict use of patches, logos, etc., to promote or advertise products, Sportek, LLC/Red Line Bass Trail reserves the right to restrict the use of said signage, with as much advance notice as possible. 19.) TOURNAMENT CANCELLATION: Safety Officials will observe weather forecasts leading up to the tournament. If inclement weather is expected, we will conduct a vote amongst the contestants on whether to launch or not. Tournament officials and directors will ultimately determine whether conditions are safe to continue. If there is a cancellation, all contestants will get a full refund. There will be no cancellations after launch. Weigh-in on bad weather days will be immediately when the weather permits. 20.) GREIVANCES, RULE INTERPRETATION AND CHANGES: All grievances must be brought before the director after the tournament. Interpretation of these rules is up to tournament directors. The tournament director reserves the right to refuse any bag for weigh-in or entry fee. All anglers are subject to a lie detector test and tournament winnings can be withheld until tournament director sees fit in awarding winnings. 21.) TICKET: If an angler receives a ticket from the water patrol during tournament hours for any violation, you will be disqualified. *ALL DISQUALIFICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REVIEW BY TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS AND DIRECTORS. All disqualifications will result in automatic forfeiture of tournament fees.
