ID Cards FORMER SPOUSE ID CARDS Authorized ONLY if: - Marriage lasted at least 20 years, AND - Service for retired pay was at least 20 years If above two conditions are met, the former spouse is authorized : Full dependant benefits (marriage overlaps 20 years) 1 year of TRICARE (marriage overlaps 15 years) No benefits if the marriage overlaps less than 15 years of military service.

Medical Considerations RETIREMENT PHYSICAL Active Duty requires a retirement physical per AR 40-501, CH 8-23 Not Required for Reserve Component members, but recommended Your last, and up to date, record of active service health Assists with claim for VA service-connected disability Schedule through your Unit FTM
Medical Considerations YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT!! Ensure all medical documentation is in your records before you retire VA and other organizations will not accept hand carried records from the soldier Make a copy of your records May be difficult to obtain after you retire Another good reason for a retirement physical
