What you ll need Mortgage Checklist Congratulations, you re on your way to becoming a homeowner. Get a head start on the mortgage process by having the following documents prepared at the time of your application: Asset Documentation: All pages of your Credit Union (or other financial insitution) account statements for last two months, including retirement Income and Employment Documentation: Copy of paystub(s) verifying 30 days of income W-2 or 1099 from all sources of income for last two previous years Signed copies of personal and federal income tax returns with all schedules for previous two years General Documents: Declarations page from your current homeowners, insurance and/or flood policy for each property owned or being purchased Mortgage statement from current lender and copy of most recent tax bill for each property owned (required for refinance loans)
