2. Delivery 2.1 Context In today's growing and dynamic environment, organizations must be able to move beyond reactive decisions and anticipate which actions are most likely to create successful outcomes in the future. In most organizations, tactical decisions often rely on a mix of knowledge of corporate policy, experience, and instinct -- and less on data-driven guidance. Additionally, due to the volume, variety, and velocity of incoming data, front-line workers and systems are unable to analyze data fast enough to inform decisions. Thus, the ability to combine and integrate algorithms, rules, decision logic, and optimization techniques into business systems is critical to success. This gives front-line employees at the point of impact the automated recommendations for the best next action so that they can use it as a valuable tool for making the best possible decisions. Recognizing this need, IBM offers IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service to provide a method for optimizing and automating business decisions in a quick and cost-effective manner. 2.2 What we will deliver IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service provides recommendations for the best next action based on predictive analytics, local rules, scoring and optimization techniques. It does this by combining and integrating a variety of analytic techniques into business systems so the organization can: Utilize the strengths and analytics of various databases on the market Prepare, cleanse and transform data for the best possible analytics Leverage an array of pre-built algorithms to visually and intuitively create predictive models Provide constraint-based optimization techniques Apply scoring, then deploy and distribute scores across the enterprise IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service optimizes decisions within resource constraints to link execution to strategy so outcomes are consistently maximized for the organization. It does this by providing a revolutionary technology platform that can: Leverage existing structured and unstructured data from disparate sources to develop new and reusable predictive analytic assets Measure trade-offs at the execution level using what if simulations Learn from executed decisions through repositories and feedback mechanisms IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service combines various IBM SPSS foundational predictive technologies, including IBM SPSS Modeler and IBM SPSS Collaboration 5

and Deployment Services in order to optimize and automate decisions at the point of impact to consistently help maximize outcomes for the organization. Interaction to the underlying technologies is via a Web-based interface enabling business users to easily make decisions at the point in time that they need to make them. The software ensures the decisions are optimized and cater for high-volumes of data to achieve superior results. By amalgamating predictive models and business rules to generate recommended actions, IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service provides a "closed loop" system, feeding the results of today s interactions into the models that recommend and drive tomorrow s decisions. 2.3 Commercials IBM SPSS Decision Management Software as a Service is a cloud offering based on IBM SPSS Decision Management V7.0 software as the front-end interface.
