Military/Dependent Scholarships AFCEA Military Personnel/Dependent Scholarship Is available to U.S. active duty servicemembers, honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), disabled veterans, and to their spouses or dependents who are currently enrolled in an eligible degree program at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Afghanistan and Iraq War Veteran Scholarship Available to undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior students who are majoring in one of the following or related fields: Computer information systems; Information systems management; Computer science; Mathematics (more on website). Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or homeland security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Primary factors considered in the selection process are demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. AHIMA Foundation Veteran Scholarship Available to U.S. Military Veterans or spouses who are full time HIM students. Air Force Association Spouse Scholarship Is available to spouses of Air Force active duty, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve who are enrolled in a degree program in the Fall semester, have a CGPA of 3.5 or higher, are taking 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 3 credit hours (graduate). American Patriot Freedom Scholarship Available to dependents of U.S. military members (active, retired, disabled, or fallen). AMVETS Scholarship Available to U.S. citizens on active duty, honorably-discharged veterans, or children/grandchildren of such. Must demonstrate financial need and not be in default on a federal student loan. Must not be convicted under state or federal law for sale of or possession of illegal drugs. Must agree to authorize AMVETS to publicize your scholarship award, if you are selected. Must be used toward graduate or undergraduate training. ANCA Scholarship Available to currently serving, prior service (with honorable discharge), or dependents of Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve soldiers who are pursuing a degree in nursing or nurse anesthesia and are not currently receiving funding by a component of the US Army, (e.g., scholarship ROTC students and students receiving full GI Bill benefits are not eligible).

Army Woman's Foundations Legacy Scholarship Applicant must be a woman who has served or is serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served there within. Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship Available to active duty Air Force or full time guard/reserve (officer or enlisted) who is pursuing a Master's degree in a non-technical field Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Available to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Children of Veterans' Tuition Grant An annual undergraduate tuition grant of up to $2,800 for the eligible children of certain deceased military personnel or totally and permanently disabled veterans. Coast Guard Foundation Scholarships Available to currently enlisted reservists, dependent children of enlisted servicemembers of the U.S. Coast Guard on active duty, retired or deceased, and dependent children of enlisted personnel in the Coast Guard Reserve currently on extended active duty 180 days or more. Davenport University Foundation Scholarships Fill out the application and select all that apply to you. Some scholarships require an essay. Disabled War Veteran Scholarship Available to current military or honorably discharged veterans, or reservists who are disabled because of wounds received after service in either Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom. Must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student who is majoring in one of the following or related fields: Computer information systems; Information systems management; Computer science; Mathematics (more on website). Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or homeland security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Primary factors considered in the selection process are demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. Fisher House Scholarship for Military Children Available to sons and daughters of active duty, reserve/guard, or retired military commissary customers. The recipients must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a four-year undergraduate college or university, accredited in the U. S. They must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Folds of Honor Scholarship Eligible applicants must be the spouse or dependent of: 1) An active duty or reserve servicemember killed or disabled in the line of duty or classified as a POW or MIA. 2) A veteran who died of any cause after being classified as having a service-connected disability. 3) A service member missing in action or captured by hostile forces in the line of duty. 4) A service member forcibly detained or interned by a foreign power in the line of duty. 5) A service member who received a Purple Heart Medal. FRA Education Foundation: Colonel Hazel Elizabeth Benn Scholarship Available to unmarried, dependent children of past and present enlisted Navy medical personnel who have served with the Marine Corps. Great Lakes National Scholarship Program Available to any high school senior or graduate who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Student must enroll full-time in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) for the entire academic year, have a minimum CGPA of 2.75, and demonstrate financial need. (Available to non-military as well). Google SVA Scholarship Available to veterans who are pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related technical field. Hero's Legacy Scholarship Is open to dependent unmarried children under age 23 of those who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. Leave No Veteran Behind: Retroactive Scholarship Available to military veterans meeting this definition: Has engaged in the active duty, reserve, or national guard in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard and: served a minimum of two years on active duty status or served a minimum of eight years in the reserves or national guard or have been deployed to a combat zone for more than 30 consecutive days or have a service connected disability that prevented the fulfillment of aforementioned time limits and was released under a condition of Honorable Note: Any discharge that is other than honorable will be reviewed and accepted based upon the circumstances of each case. Must have completed some form of higher education which can include technical, associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate degrees or must have a 100% service connected disability rating from the VA that inhibits the completion

of a degree. Must have loans from a lending institution that were used specifically to pay for education costs. Must provide a personal letter on how educational debt has created personal or family hardship. Must agree to 100 hours of community service. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Available to children of currently serving or veteran active duty or reserve Marines (or Navy Corpsmen who have served with a Marine Corps unit). Minimum GPA of 2.0, max family income of $91,000. MG James Ursano Scholarship Available to children of Army Soldiers who are currently serving on federal active duty, retired, deceased while retired, or deceased while on active duty. Must be in pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree. Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship Available to purple heart recipients or their spouse, widow or direct lineal descendant (child, step-child, adopted child,or grandchild). Military Spouse Scholarship National Military Family Association created this scholarship to help prepare military spouses for meaningful employment and to better contribute to their family s financial security. National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) Grant Must be a member of NGAM in the grade of E-2 thru 0-3 and currently enrolled in good academic standing. Navy: Anchor Scholarship Available to dependents of Navy servicemembers who have served a minimum of six years in a unit under the administrative control of Commander, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Atlantic Fleet or U.S. Pacific Fleet. Must be seeking a 4-year degree. Navy: Dolphin Scholarship Available to members, former members, and dependents of members of the Submarine Force who have qualified in submarines and have served in the Submarine Force for at least eight years; or Navy members who have served in submarine support activities (e.g., submarine bases, tenders, and rescue vessels) for a minimum of ten years. Must be pursuing a 4-year degree. Navy: Wings over America Scholarship Available to dependent children and spouses of U.S. Naval Air Force personnel who have served at least 8 years (non-consecutive) in an aviation or support command [any command aboard a Naval Air Station], including: active duty, retired, honorably discharged, or deceased.

Our Family for Families First Scholarship Available to spouses of active duty servicemembers stationed at one of the following installations: Fort Meade, Fort Bragg, Fort Polk, Fort Rucker, Fort Riley, Fort Sill, or Aberdeen Proving Ground. Pat Tillman Military Scholarship Open to current service members, veterans, and spouses of such. Must be pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree as a full-time student. Application deadline: Friday, February 15 at 11:59:59 PM PST. Plachta, Murphy Annual Veteran Scholarships Program Applicant must be attending a Michigan college or university, provide copy of student ID, must be a veteran of the US Armed Forces with Honorable Discharge, submit copy of DD 214, must be Michigan resident and provide a copy of State Identification, submit application and a brief essay (300-500 words) on why you joined the military, how it affected your life, and what your plans are after graduation. PNC-SVA Serving with Integrity Scholarship Available to students who have been honorably discharged or currently serving in the military. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be majoring in one of the following degrees: management, accounting, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, computer science, or information technology. Veterans United Foundation Scholarship Available to 1) Current active-duty service members. 2) U.S. Military Veterans. 3) Spouses of a U.S. military member or veteran. 4) Surviving spouses or children of a fallen soldier. 5) Children of a military member or veteran. Applicants must be pursuing an associates, bachelors, masters or doctorate degree at an accredited college or university, OR plan to attend a college or university the following academic year. Applicants must display financial need and maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA. Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship Applications for the $5,000 Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship are now available for nurses wanting to advance their training in pediatric lung and respiratory diseases or to prepare for positions in clinical practice and management. Applications must be postmarked no later than 15 May. Military Officers Association of America The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Scholarship Fund was established in 1948 to provide educational assistance for children of military families. It is based on one of the association's founding principles that "education is the cornerstone of a strong democracy". It is supported by donations and bequests from MOAA members, chapters, corporations, and others.

West Michigan Nursing Advisory Committee's Nursing Scholarship Program The West Michigan Nursing Advisory Committee's Nursing Scholarship Program is designed to assist nursing students to obtain a nursing degree in an effort to promote and advance the profession of nursing. Students from West Michigan seeking to obtain bachelors, masters or doctorate degrees are eligible.
