In the classroom, I see myself as both a mentor and a servant to my students. I believe students need to feel that they will be challenged and successful as long as they commit to academic and personal development. I make every effort to create an experience that is nurturing and invites students to take risks which at times may make them uncomfortable, but fosters psychological flexibility and new ways of being. I strive to be passionate and well-organized in my approach to teaching. Bio - Dr. Bourgeois is a licensed counselor with nine years of mental health counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and groups. He has multiple publications and has given presentations at numerous national conferences focusing on counselor education and supervision. He is currently in his fourth year as a Counselor Educator at the University of Louisiana Lafayette.
