VIT University Vellore-632 014, Tamil Nadu, India. www.vit.ac.in Summer Training & Internship Program on Internet of Things (IoT) using sensor and android mobile interfacing with computing 16 th 28 th June 2014 Organized by TIFAC - CORE in AUTOMOTIVE INFOTRONICS (Sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India) Coordinators Dr. K. Ganesan, Director, TIFAC CORE & Senior Professor, SITE Mr. N.S.Manikandan, System Architect,TIFAC CORE Prof. A.Rammohan, Assistant Professor, TIFAC CORE

TIFAC-CORE IN AUTOMOTIVE INFOTRONICS @VIT E The centre is conducting need based training programs on cutting edge technologies for students, faculties and industry participants. Offering consultancy services for the industries and carrying out research works through the research grants received from funding agencies. The Centre has so far conducted 210 Training programs The centre has completed nearly 20 consultancy projects with many leading Automotive and Telecom companies. The centre has filed 16 patents. Objective The Internet of Things represents an evolution in which objects are capable of interacting with other objects. Hospitals can monitor and regulate pacemakers long distance, factories can automatically address production line issues and hotels can adjust temperature and lighting according to a guest's preferences, to name just a few examples. Furthermore, as the number of devices connected to the Internet continues to grow exponentially, an organization's ability to send, receive, gather, analyze and respond to events from any connected device increases as well. In computing the Private (IBM Mainframe ) and Public (Google App Engine) are used to interact with the relevant Sensors (interfaced with appropriate microcontroller) and Android Mobiles through the Internet protocols. General Requirements Students pursuing B. E / B. Tech / M. E / M.Tech degree / MS (SE) in any engineering discipline may apply for this Internet of Things (IoT) using sensor and android mobile interfacing with computing summer Internship Program. Applications will be reviewed and only 20 students will be selected by the coordinating committee of the program. During the first phase rigorous training will be given to students on both hardware and software modules. During the second phase (last few days) the participants will be given real time projects. During the third phase, the participants have to submit a project report and power point presentation, apart from (real time) project demo.
