While all committee members are responsible for the construction of the specialist questions, the chair of the committee is ultimately charged with the final slate. Upon completion of the written exam, copies are sent to the committee and the student. The written examination is followed by an oral exam of the student s specialist committee. Status of pass or fail will be determined after the oral portion of the qualifying exam. Student work and defense of work is graded on a pass or fail basis separately for each question.
