GVI VISION (ERP) Desktop Client Upgrade Installation Access the Finance ERP intranet website at 172.20.2.15 and follow the links to the Vision ERP System Desktop Client Installation Installation Notes; You can either download the update erp_client.undate.exe to your local PC, or you may elect to install directly from the server. Before commencing installation, it is important that you close all currently opened ERP sessions, including the Munis Ml k icon in the system tray. This is the recommended update for technical currency. The remaining frames are not all inclusive of what will appear on your screen, however once you respond appropriately to the prompts, your installation will be successful. Follow all installation prompts accordingly Page 1 of 9
For upgrading an already existing Munis client: The next screen will appear if you have already installed this upgrade and it is not functioning properly. Do not choose modify; it may be more convenient to remove the fragmented install, (use the Windows control panel and perform an Add/Remove Software and reboot your computer before resuming a clean install. It may be more convenient to un-install and commence with a new install. Once you have un-installed the previous version of the Vision ERP client, you can then proceed with installation notes for a new install. Page 2 of 9
For New Installs only: If this is a new install do not select default ; the following steps are for new installations only: You may be prompted to upgrade your IE explorer. (IE Explorer update is not required); Select Yes to continue with the installation. Page 3 of 9
Your Vision ERP Server IP Address is: 172.20.2.105. Connection to the Vision ERP Server must be established through the Secure Shell (SSH 2). Page 4 of 9
Select the Standard Configuration And enable the Access Live db, for ERP production, and Access Train db for the training system; This ends the installation and configuration a new Vision ERP client. Page 5 of 9
Finally, rename your desktop icons as follows: From: MUNIS Live From: MUNIS Test To: GVI VISION ERP Test GVI Vision ERP Test.lnk To: GVI VISION ERP Live And, GVI Vision ERP Live.lnk Our fix to enable users to change their passwords can be applied by substituting the config.xml file as described below in step 2. For Installation on a PC that never had the Vision ERP Client before: Continue with the following steps: Step 1: Host File Requirements Ensure that these entries exist. The Host file is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in XP C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in Windows 2000 The following lines should be added to the host file: 172.20.2.105 erp_prod # Production System Step 2: Copy config.xml file from MUNIS-Client CD to C:\Program Files\FourJs\GDC\etc Step 5: Change Permissions on the GDC directory Go to: C:\Program Files\FourJs\GDC Right click the GDC directory. Select properties. Select the Security tab and give the Users Group Full Control. Step 6: Page 6 of 9
Verify that the password window is pointing to the proper address for the VISION System. When the client is launched for the first time, the VISION system will return an encrypted key to the PC; you should accept the key; Page 7 of 9
Once you have accepted the server s key, additional files will be installed on you PC, please wait until the process is completed. At this point, if you computer has an active firewall, you will be prompted to take action; you must disable the firewall to accommodate the VISION system. In this example, Symantec Firewall client is installed on the PC; to disable, right-click on the on the icon in the system tray and select Disable Symantec Client Firewall until next logon, or for as long as you desire to be on the VISION System. The initial load will take some time, depending on the speed on you link, and the PC s resources. You may have to wait for up to 5 minutes before the GUI interface is fully loaded before you can commence using the VISION ERP system. Page 8 of 9
When fully loaded into memory, the first VISION screen will look something like this: At this point you can navigate the VISION system accordingly. If not, access your system s C: drive / Program Files / FourJs / GDC; locate the file mu_pics.exe and double click. This should update the picture. Note: If you are having trouble with this configuration, seek technical support from your system administrator. Page 9 of 9
