A tough macro-economic environment or company-specific financial distress will have an impact on the type of applications and services that are deployed, as well as the deployment model used. Cash-strapped businesses may outsource strictly to save money in the short run. They typically choose their hosted solutions based on cost, rather than feature set and capabilities.
