Meet our senior leadership team at sibos 2014 Nadeem Syed Chief Executive Officer Nadeem Syed joined Misys in 2012 as President & COO. He came to Misys from SumTotal, where he most recently served as COO. Nadeem led the company s strategic initiatives overseeing services, support, hosting, product management, and engineering since early 2010. Before this, he spent over 19 years in numerous positions at Oracle. Nadeem s most recent position at Oracle was Group Vice President of Products with responsibility for leading a large, multicultural, globally distributed team. In this role, Nadeem significantly evolved the Supply Chain Management suite to a position where Oracle became the second largest Supply Chain solutions provider. In addition, Nadeem also held pivotal positions on the acquisition and integration executive teams for several key Oracle acquisitions. Frank Brienzi Chief Sales Officer As President and Chief Sales Officer, Frank has responsibility for the entire Misys go-to-market organisation including sales, pre-sales and marketing. Frank joined Misys in July 2013 and brings more than 25 years of financial services experience and expertise to the company. He came to Misys from Oracle where he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oracle s Global Financial Services Business Unit. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Oracle Financial Services Software, Ltd. and oversaw the operations of the company. Frank began his career with EDS in 1984, as part of the Financial Services Strategic business unit, responsible for large-scale banking and insurance development, sales and account management. He was also a Managing Partner at Accenture, helping to grow its global financial services business and leading its global application outsourcing practice. Frank currently serves on the Board of Aidmatrix. In addition, he has written several articles for major magazines including Forbes and InformationWeek. 1
Martin Haring Chief Marketing Officer As Chief Marketing Officer, Martin is responsible for Misys global marketing organisation. Martin joined Misys in October 2013 and brings more than 20 years technology marketing and executive leadership experience with global market players to the company. Martin came to Misys from Akamai Technologies Inc. where he was the Vice President Marketing and Channels responsible for all marketing functions and channel sales divisions across EMEA. Prior to this he was the worldwide Marketing Vice President for Oracle s Hardware Line of Business and the EMEA Vice President Marketing and part of the EMEA Executive Board for Sun Microsystems. He was also the Head of the Supervisory Board of the Sun Germany legal entity. Brian Gibson Vice President, Partners & Ecosystem As Vice President, Partners and Ecosystem, Brian is responsible for all elements of the development and management of the Misys partner ecosystem strategy globally.brian joined Misys in September 2013 from Accenture, where for the previous nine years he was responsible for all alliances aligned to Accenture s key practice areas. Prior to his role at Accenture he held leadership roles at Siebel Systems, Oracle, Digital and ICL. Brian has worked in the hardware, software and consulting industry for more than 25 years in a variety of sales and partner leadership roles. He has a wide experience of leading partner and ecosystem management teams that are internationally deployed, working within global organisations. Boris Lipiainen Global Head of Product Management Boris is responsible for the Misys product strategy and product management. Boris Lipiainen joined Reuters Trade and Risk Management business in 2007 as the Global Head of Product Management and Strategy. In 2008 he also took responsibility for the R&D and since then he led the product side of the business as the Global Head of Product and Development at Turaz. Prior to that Boris was an associate principal in the McKinsey Business Technology Office in London, where his primary focus was on the banking and securities industry and software. In this role he served several global financial services firms and technology providers. Before this, he was the CIO and COO of a Russian bank. Boris started his professional career in 1990 as a software engineer, after obtaining a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics. He also earned a Masters Degree in Management and Finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1998. 2
Rick Salk Sales Director, North America Rick Salk is the Regional Director for Misys in North America. His teams are responsible for managing Misys client relationships, selling to new clients and taking new solutions to market, for all of Misys products. Prior to his current position, Mr. Salk has had various sales leadership positions in Misys, having worked closely with our client base across the Misys portfolio. Mr. Salk joined Misys following a career in banking at Chemical Bank and Citibank. He holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and received his M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. Conor Colleary SVP Global Sales As SVP Global Sales, Conor is responsible for driving exceptional sales performance with the right people, processes and technology. Conor joined Misys in June 2012 when Misys and Turaz, the Kondor+ business from Thomson Reuters, merged. He brings over 15 years of financial services application software experience to Misys. Conor s prior roles include Head of Risk Management CISMEA at Thomson Reuters. Before this, he was in various global sales and services roles at Misys. John Farrell Global Head of Solutions John joined Misys in 2013 as the Global Head of Solutions, his primary responsibility is focused on delivery excellence by creating predicable, value based results for our customers. He came to Misys after 7 years at CGI (formerly Logica) where he was responsible for the Global Products Business, overseeing the management, development, delivery and support of a suite of financial services products focused on transaction banking, payments, compliance, central market infrastructures and financial messaging. John began his career in the Management Consulting arm of PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving on to KPMG Consulting where his primary focus was delivering transformational change to Fortune 400 companies in the areas of global supply chain management, product & customer lifecycle management and e-commerce. 3
Misys solution experts at sibos 2014 David Hennah Head of Trade And Supply Chain Finance, Transaction Banking, Misys David leads the trade and supply chain finance product management team at Misys having re-joined the company from SWIFT where he spent 8 years driving the industry body s financial supply chain strategy. David spent over twenty years in a variety of transaction banking roles at Barclays and is well known for his work in recent years to bring the ICC Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) to market as an established business practice. David was a member of the ICC BPO Rules Drafting Group and is the author of the ICC Guide to the Uniform Rules for Bank Payment Obligations. He is also a distinguished Member of the Institute of Financial Services. Wisam Mahmood Global Solution Director, Transaction Banking, Misys Wisam Mahmood has over 20 years international banking and financial services experience covering commercial, treasury and investment banking. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the Misys product portfolio for Transaction Banking which includes, Trade and Supply Chain Finance, Payments and Messaging, Corporate Channels and Global Managed Services. Mahmood is an Engineer and graduate from Cass Business School in Mathematical Trading and Finance. Tim Tyler Global Product Manager, Online and Mobile Banking, Misys Tim is responsible for online and mobile solutions for Transaction Banking at Misys. Tim has over 20 years of experience in the financial services software industry, having started his professional life as a programmer working for both software companies and directly for banks. Tim has been with Misys for 12 years, the bulk of which has been spent specialising in online / internet banking and more recently mobile banking. 4
Bohdan Chomut Global Product Manager - Global Managed Services, Misys Bohdan Chomut is the Senior Product Manager at Misys, responsible for the product management of the company s treasury products such as the Confirmation Matching Service and the delivery of SWIFT of services. During his 25-year career in the financial services industry, Mr. Chomut held a Senior management role at SWIFT developing its FX & Derivatives strategy. Prior to that he was a Vice-President at Citibank where he developed FX trading systems, including the implementation of a multi-bank confirmations system for FX and Money Markets. From 2004 to 2006 he served as head of strategic development for Misys Treasury where he led the expansion of Misys Treasury Services. Mr. Chomut has regularly been invited to speak at financial conferences and often contributes to the treasury trade press. Carlos Teixeira Transaction Banking Manager, Middle East & Africa, Misys Carlos has more than 15 years of experience in Trade Finance, 9 years of which were with European banks where he was responsible for the Trade Finance Division. In 2005, he joined Misys Dubai with the challenge to run the Trade Services Implementation Team assuring the delivery of Misys Trade Services Solutions in the MEA Region. In 2009, he became the Solutions Architect for Misys Transaction Banking Solution in the same region providing executive advisory to the clients regarding market trends and new technology for innovative services. With its success, he is now the Transaction Banking Manager leading Middle East & Africa region for Misys Banking Systems. Jitesh Malik Business Development Director, Transaction Banking, Misys A Business Development Director with Misys covering the Asia Pacific region, Jitesh Malik has over 20 years experience in the banking and finance software sector. His specialization includes financial supply chain in the trade services arena and he possesses strong domain knowledge in transaction banking including Cash Management, Payments, Trade Finance, Supply Chain and Channel Delivery Solutions. An advocate of leveraging on technology to improve banking operations, Jitesh graduated in 1994 from the Indian Institute of Technology with a Masters in Technology. 5
Nicholas Brewer Product Strategy Director for Banking, Misys Nicholas Brewer is responsible for the medium and long term direction for Misys s portfolio of banking products. He is mainly focused on understanding how banks commercial and technology related needs are evolving, and in developing plans for Misys to continue to serve these changing requirements. In this regard he covers Transaction Banking, Retail and Core Banking and Corporate Lending. Nicholas joined Misys in May 2013, having previously worked at Aite Group as an analyst covering Banking and Technology. Before this he spent over 15 years working with software vendors, mainly SunGard and Temenos, in a variety of strategic and commercial roles. Prior to working in the technology sector, Nicholas worked primarily for banks and financial firms for approximately 10 years in a variety of financial and control roles in London and the Middle East. He holds a degree in English Literature from Durham University. Paul Curry Senior Product Manager for Payment and Messaging, Misys Paul has over 20 years of experience in product strategy and development and in the provision of mission critical payments applications to central banks, banks and corporates; he has worked with clients world-wide to enable them to renovate their payments infrastructures in response to customer needs, ever-increasing regulatory pressure and other market drivers. Paul has extensive business and domain knowledge in wholesale and retail payments, clearing and settlement systems, liquidity management and FX and is a recognised leader in the payment solution space. Prior to joining Misys, Paul was the Line of Business Manager for the payments products portfolio at CGI and has also worked as a Senior Product Manager and SME in the Global Products Business at Logica (now part of CG). Paul holds a BSc in Physics and Astronomy and a PhD in Atomic and Laser Spectroscopy from University College London. 6
