Charter Northridge Hospital 1987-89 Program Administrator for inpatient & outpatient services in hospital-based, adult substance abuse and mental health program. Responsible for day-to-day clinical programs and linkages to all hospital operations. Westhaven 1989-96 Design, develop, and implement intensive outpatient substance abuse services in a private-for-profit behavioral health program. Services included hospital consultations and development of referral networks with employee assistance programs and managed care systems.

OTHER RELEVANT NC Department of Human Resources 1982-85 EXPERIENCE: Substance Abuse Services Section Staff Consultant/Writer to a multi-system workgroup to develop/implement a cooperative effort between state justice and behavioral health treatment systems titled The North Carolina Justice- Treatment Interface Project. NC Department of Human Resources 1989-91 Mental Health Study Commission Staff Consultant and Technical Writer to a legislative workgroup that developed the model for continuum of care for adults with substance abuse problems. The Adult Substance Abuse Plan was included and funded as part of a legislative appropriations request for the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services in DHR.

BIOSKETCH L. Worth Bolton, MSW, LCAS, is currently working with the Behavioral Healthcare Resource Program in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to coming to UNC, Worth has 27 years of work experience in substance abuse services to adults and adolescents in a wide variety of service settings. He is a Clinical Instructor in the graduate Social Work program at UNC coordinating and teaching in the Certificate in Substance Abuse Studies Program. Worth is past Chair and Board Member of the N.C. Foundation for Alcohol & Drug Studies and the N. C. Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board. Worth is also past Chair of the Steering Committee of NASW in the Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs Practice Section. He has provided training, consultation and technical assistance to business/industry, social service agencies, and the military. Current areas of interest and study are; Assessment and Treatment Planning for the Dually Diagnosed, Clinical Services to Addicted Offenders, Clinician Credentialing in Addictions, Clinical Supervision and Clinical Services to Combat Veterans. Currently teaching in the Substance Abuse Certificate Program at the UNC School of Social Work s Masters Program. Actively involved in the substance abuse credentialing issue in N.C. since 1978. Advocate for Social Workers in Substance Abuse since 1981. Has provided training in this practice area for the past twenty-five years. 97-99: NC Liaison for Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs practice section for NASW-NC. 96-97: Served as NASW-NC representative to transdiciplinary workgroup that developed the state s Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist credential to recognize practitioners who practice in addictions at the Masters level and above. 97: Served as N.C. s representative to the Substance Abuse Certification Board of Florida to develop a certification process for addiction counselors working in criminal justice services. Licensed Certified Clinical Addictions Specialist, and Certified in Clinical Supervision of addiction counselors. Past Member and Chair of the Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs Steering Committee for NASW-National Office. Currently serving on the N.C.
