Graduate comments When enrolling in PDE at Queens I was promised a new, different and exciting course. After completing my masters year I was satisfied that it delivered. PDE not only gave me the technical knowledge I needed to secure and perform my current position but it also helped cultivate the skills and traits needed to succeed in the workplace. From the outset we were able to develop new products which were not only aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic etc, but most importantly were financially viable. The course taught us how to take and develop a sketch on a piece of paper into a product in any industry. The course ensures the students study modules most suited to the real life Mechanical Product Design Engineer and hence the induction time for a new engineer is significantly reduced. The work placement also has a big impact in giving the student a real life design environment.
