These notes summarizes PIcOS 2.4 new features, new hardware, known bugs, and bug fixes. Best practices recommend that you read all the content before upgrading to this release. For more detailed feature information, refer to the configuration guides. Important! PicOS 2.3 and PicOS 2.4 Crossflow mode Configurations are NOT compatible. Before upgrading to PicOS 2.4, you must delete your 2.3 crossflow mode configuration, upgrade to PicOS 2.4, and then reconfigure your Crossflow mode configuration. 3
Hardware Two switches, which were previously announced, are now generally available. These new switches are using the Broadcom Trident2 chipset (Large FIB and VXLAN support). The model numbers are: P-5101 (48 x 10G with 6 x 40G, Trident-2) P-5401 (32 x 40G, Trident-2) Hardware Compatibility PicOS 2.4 adds two EdgeCore and two Quanta switches to Pica8's hardware compatibility list (HCL). ONIE image installation is supported on the switches listed in the table below. Known Issues Bug ID Description IGMP Snooping 2363 A link utilization command to set the minimum number of operational links in a LAG is not available as expected. LAG 2022 A link utilization command, to set the minimum number of operational links in a LAG, is not available as expected. Layer 2 / Layer 3 1244 Help (?) pagination is not displayed as expected on all commands. 2780 The switch CPU is not receiving ACL match entry packets as expected. OVS/OpenFlow 2259 There is no command to display available TCAM space for allocated IP, MAC, or ARP regions. 2581 The system does not discard packets that may block traffic or otherwise cause congestion as expected. 7

OVS/OpenFlow 2650 IPv6 is now supported on Trident 2 platforms. 8
