T1/E1, PRI, SS7, etc. 3 Steps, 1 and 2 easy, 3 is where you add your expertise dear Partners! PSTN T1/E1, PRI, SS7, etc. PBX / Call Center Connect 1 1 2 3 Create a passive tap connection Setup Sangoma T116 card Application to capture information Configure 2 3 Tapping System Develop 10

How do I build these connections? We did it for you! Sangoma Tapping Box 1 TAP box required for each T1/E1 Use Regular RJ45 cables with A102 and A104 Use A108 split cable with A108 You will need to make RJ45 cables to use with T116 nothing complicated here 4 way split with T116 1 14
T116 Cable Making 1 Each connector on the T116 accepts four T1/E1 receiver pairs Four twisted pairs are spliced to each RJ-45 to achieve full capacity http://wiki.sangoma.com/t116-16-port-t1-e1-j1-tapping-board 15
Watch your Pins! 1 For T1/E1, 4 pins used 2 for transmit (TX pair) 2 for receive (RX pair) TX pairs on one end connect to RX pairs on the other end Normally pins 1, 2, 4, 5 are used 1 and 2 for RX / 4 and 5 for TX Sometimes Telco equipment reverses this order to use straight cable When creating your interconnections you need to understand for all equipment involved the pin-out layouts For Sangoma, you can find this here: http://wiki.sangoma.com/cable-pinouts 16
Why is everything divided by 2? 1 T1/E1 is 4 wires PSTN or PLMN Tx Rx Rx Tx Can only use Receive side (Tx ports unused) T116 has no TX pairs Port 1 Rx Port 2 Rx 1 Span TAP = 2 port card (A102) 2 Span TAP = 4 port card (A104) 4 Span TAP = 8 port card (A108) Rx = Receive Tx = Transmit * Echo Cancellation not required 17
Wanpipe Configuration 2 Wanpipe is Sangoma s hardware driver WANPIPE routing stack is completely independent of TDM voice application for total system reliability WANPIPE supports certified, field-tested, and reliable Frame Relay, PPP, HDLC, and X.25 Configuration: Interface in TDM_VOICE mode TE_HIGHIMPEDANCE = YES Sample configs available: http://wiki.sangoma.com/t1-e1-tapping-solution 18
Add your Value, Dear Partner! 3 Use our APIs 2 choices are available LibSangoma Used to build custom Voice applications over Sangoma TDM Voice hardware, on both Linux & Windows. Is a very low level RAW API. It has no logic or state machines. Provides greatest flexibility for a developer, consequently its hardest to use http://wiki.sangoma.com/wanpipe-api Sangoma TDM SDK High level TDM API that supports full signalling and voice functions for rapid application development. It support all Sangoma PCI, PCIe cards and is designed to abstract all TDM signalling and protocols into a unified, OS abstracted SDK. Furthermore Sangoma TDM SDK can operate in both network termination and network tapping mode with full signaling stack support. Runs on Linux and/or Windows Coming out in January 2014! 19
