Wealth Management Forum Committee The Wealth Management Forum meets six times a year with a wide range of speakers bringing professional insight to discussions about issues and topics that are relevant to Wealth Managers both now and in the future. Chairman: Frank Dolan, Chartered FCSI Chartered Wealth Manager Frank s wealth management experience stems from working with private clients and major institutions while at Laurie, Milbank & Co, through to being a senior manager for a major insurance company, running a sales branch of over 50 field personnel and junior managers. In addition to chairing the Wealth Management Professional Forum, Frank is chair of the Portfolio Construction Theory exam panel for the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, and a member of the Qualification AssessmentBoard. He serves on the CISI Accredited Body committee and participates in CPD consultative panels. Outside of CISI he is still active in his own private wealth management practice and is consultant to a firm he co-founded that provides investment management services to the private clients of IFAs. He also has a business development and training consultancy aimed specifically at those in the financial services sector. Deputy Chairman: Clive Menzies, Chartered FCSI, Director, Fund Building Clive has over 35 years experience in investment and wealth management. He set up, developed and sold a private client wealth management business in the 1980s; ran Jardine Matheson's London based investment management and stockbroking business from 1987 to 1994; provided strategic advice to investment management businesses and developed investment management and back-office systems. He is a director of: Fund Building Limited, which markets collective investment funds to professional intermediaries and institutions; and a computer support company.
Clive founded and coordinates the Critical Thinking project at the Free University, which focuses on understanding political economy and exploring alternative economic and democratic models. He's conducted CISI CPD seminars on: climate change and carbon trading; banking and the monetary system; and economics. Deputy Chairman: Bruce Weatherill MCSI Partner, Bruce Weatherill Executive Consulting Bruce Weatherill is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience, including 10 years as Head of the Wealth Management Practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Bruce formed Weatherill Consulting in 2008 and continues to advise Wealth Managers around the world. A global report on The Value of Trust: the quest by Wealth Managers for Trusted Advisor status, sponsored by IBM, was issued in late 2011. Bruce is Chairman of Clearview Financial Media Limited (including WealthBriefing), Chairman of RFi s Private Banking Councils in Australia, Singapore and the UK and a Non-Executive Director of ComPeer Limited. Bruce is also a Director and Head of Wealth Services at JDX Consulting, a company that provides burst capacity resource to Financial services organisations. Christopher Jones-Warner, Chartered FCSI Christopher was a Member of the Stock Exchange managing private clients with Quilter Goodison until 1995 when he set up and ran the fund management operation of Westminster solicitors Bircham Dyson Bell. As a director of the Association of Solicitor Investment Managers he emphasised the more holistic approach of wealth management and developed the syllabus content of the CISI s Masters in Wealth Management while a Senior Adviser to the Institute. He was a partner at St James s Place and a consultant to Defaqto, the financial research company. Since 2007, he has specialised in developing leadership in wealth management firms and communication skills that create rapport and build trust within wealth management teams. He was the founding chairman of the Wealth Management Forum.
Freddy Barker, Chartered FCSI New Issues Desk Manager, Charles Stanley & Co. Freddy is the New Issues Desk Manager at Charles Stanley & Co. Prior to joining in 2013, he was head of research at Spears magazine, a role that he took up after completing an MSc (with distinction) at the University of Exeter. Rob Burgeman, Chartered FCSI Divisional Director, Brewin Dolphin Rob began his career in the City with Savory Milln, a small broking house, in 1986 and he joined Brewin Dolphin in 2007. He looks after a mixture of private clients, pension funds and charities. Rob is a member of the London Executive team, helping to oversee the London office as well as looking after his own team which has around 280 million under management. At the same time, he sits on the Asset Allocation committee which provides an investment framework for Brewin Dolphin. He is a media spokesman for the firm and is often heard on the radio or quoted in the press. Rob also regularly contributes to the Brewin Blog. Bandish Gudka, Chartered MCSI Investment Manager, Vestra Wealth Bandish is Chartered Wealth Manager at Vestra Wealth. Speaking 7 languages, he manages assets for International and UK resident HNW clients including Corporates and Charities. Bandish commenced his career at Citigroup, where was awarded Founder Member honours with their UK Wealth Management Business. He subsequently successfully built and managed a large UK and International client base at Barclays Wealth. Bandish has extensive knowledge of Global Emerging and Frontier markets and significant experience in structuring broad ranging bespoke investment solutions with highly prized reputation for excellence in client service delivery.
Additionally, he is a Tier 1 Immigration Portfolio, Fixed Income, FX and Africa Client specialist. Bandish is a member of the Vestra Fixed Income, Unregulated Investments and Main Investment Committees. He was named Rising Star of Wealth Management by Spears in 2012. He was also a Finalist of the Young Turks Wealth Manager Awards 2012 and Runner Up with special mention in 2013. Bandish plays the Sitar professionally, and has collaborated with numerous mainstream artists, and worked on feature films and theatre production. He is also a keen Philanthropist, and a Trustee and board member on numerous Charities Overseas and in the UK. Jason Dalley, Chartered FCSI Investment Director, Rathbone Investment Management Jason is an Investment Director at Rathbones Investment Management, where he looks after discretionary portfolios for individual clients and their families. He also manages accounts for charities, trusts, pension funds and companies. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Jason started his city career at Killik & Co in 1994, having previously served for seven years in the British Army, as a Light Dragoon. He moved to Ely Fund Managers in 1998 and then joined Rathbones in 2006 when they acquired assets from Ely s parent company, Dexia BIL. Based in London until 2010, Jason has lived in Wiltshire for many years and now runs his team from Rathbones Bristol office. Outside of work he is a Trustee for the Community Foundation for Wiltshire & Swindon and a member of their development committee. He also coaches junior rugby at Devizes RFC. Amy Lazenby, Chartered FCSI Investment Manager, Close Brothers Asset Management Amy Lazenby is the founding partner of Wilson King Investment Management which provides a discretionary investment management services on shore and off shore to individuals and their families. Amy focuses her research on global equity markets and balances risk in her clients portfolios through investments in fixed income and cash. She has 10 years of experience in investment and wealth management and enjoyed 3 years of work in corporate public relations when she first came to City after graduating from Durham University.
Amy is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She has two small children and in limited spare time enjoys singing choral music and opera. Peter Moores, Chartered FCSI CEO, Raymond James Investment Services Peter joined Raymond James Investment Services in 2004 as MD and became the CEO in 2005. Peter has twenty years of international experience working for Chase Manhattan Bank, DAB Bank and SELFtrade UK. Keith Robertson, Chartered FCSI Chartered Financial Planner, Armstrong Financial Chartered Financial Planners Keith holds Fellowships (by examination) of the PFS and IFP, and an MSc in Investment and Risk. He is on the CISI Risk forum committee, as well as the exam panels for the Institute s Masters Level 7 suite of exams and Private Client Advice Level 4 Diploma exam, as well as sitting on the Qualifications Assessment Board. He has been a fee-charging financial planner and investment manager for nearly 20 years, specialising in Riskaverse Investing David Hearne, Chartered FCSI Wealth Management Adviser, Satis Asset Management David is a Chartered Wealth Manager, Chartered Financial Planner and Certified Financial Planner. He recently became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society following the completion of qualifications in discretionary investment management. He joined the financial services industry in 1999 and has held roles as a multi tied and independent financial adviser working with corporate and private clients. In 2012 David joined Satis Asset Management as a Wealth Management Adviser. Satis are Private Client Wealth Managers and Tax Advisers in London and were established by the accountancy firm Hillier Hopkins LLP. In 2013 David became a CISI External Specialist on the Investment, Risk & Taxation subject panel. He is also working towards becoming a Fellow of the CISI.
Ian Porter, Chartered MCSI Ian Porter is responsible for growing and developing the already successful SPI wealth management business, expanding its footprint in the UK. Ian has extensive experience of working at senior level in private wealth management and joined us from Alexander Forbes Wealth where he was Head of Wealth Management for 5 years, owning its wealth management proposition and directly managing its consultants. Prior to this he was Associate Director and Head of Retirement Solutions at Heartwood Wealth Management. Other previous positions include that of Private Client Adviser at HSBC Private Clients and Senior Consultant at Sedgwick Financial Services.
