GPON Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) GPON OLTs connect the backbone network to the optical distribution network (ODN). It is the aggregation point of the GPON system, collecting information from the various optical network units (s) and transporting it to the backbone network. The CommScope GPON portfolio features the C9264 OLT for large-scale deployments and the C9016 OLT for smaller projects. C9264 for large deployments The C9264 is a high-density, high-capacity OLT capable of controlling up to 4,069 s. Ideal for enterprise customers and large, multi-unit residential dwellings, its multi-function, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) design provides operators with a cost-effective solution for reliable triple-play services. Each 19-inch, rack-mounted chassis features space for two switch and control modules (SCM), two power supply modules (PSM), two line interface modules (LIM) and eight PON interface modules (PIM). The C9264 incorporates full redundancy of the SCM and PSM for excellent availability and reliability. - Designed on a 960 gigabits per second (Gbps), next-generation platform - Handles up to 4096 s - Includes 4x10 gigabit Ethernet (GE) or 16x1GE uplinks - Front access for fast installation - All components are hot swappable - 14 available slots - Space for eight PON interface units - Compact 437mm x 352mm x 300mm footprint - Accommodates up to 1,024 s - 16 x GPON capacity - All modules are front-access and hot-swappable - Compatible with C9264 OLT - SCU features 4 1GE ports and 2 10GE port for network uplink - Two slots for PIMs for 16 non-redundant or 8 redundant PONs - Two power supply units provide AC/DC redundancy - 19 two rack-unit (RU) chassis C9016 for small deployments C9016 is a full-featured OLT designed for smaller-scale deployments of less than 1024 s. It offers the primary features of the larger C9624 as well as scalability for future growth. Its compact chassis contains one SCM, two hot swappable PSMs, and two PIMs that can be configured in redundant or non-redundant modes. Each PIM has eight GPON ports on the card. The SCM features four small form-factor pluggable (SFP) 1000Base-X ports plus two 10GBase-R (SFP+) ports for uplink interfaces. The PIMs are fully compatible with the larger C9264, enabling operators to scale up services with additional GPON OLTs without significantly increasing OPEX or capital expenses (CAPEX). 4 For more information, visit commscope.com

GPON Optical Network Units (s) A GPON connects at the subscriber location where it converts optical signals into the various signals required by the subscribers devices and systems. These include local area networks (LANs), phone systems, voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP), Internet TV (IPTV) and home automation systems, to name a few. Comm- Scope GPON s install quickly and feature four easy-to-access Ethernet ports for fast and reliable content delivery. A 12V DC power connection with optional battery backup ensures always-on connectivity. The CommScope GPON solution includes the CS9004A and the RF-enabled CS9014A. CS9004A optical network unit () The CS9004A is designed for home and small office use. It delivers individualized, feature-rich triple-play services like IPTV, VoIP and high-speed Internet access. Four standard RJ-45 ports provide reliable gigabit Ethernet delivery to sub scribers. - ITU-T G.984 compliant - Four Ethernet LAN 10/100/1000Base-T ports - Bridge mode - 2.488 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps upstream PON capacity - Dying gasp support - ITU-T G.984 GPON compliant - Four Ethernet LAN 10/100/1000Base-T ports - RF video port with coaxial F-connector for digital cable TV - Bridge mode - Supports dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), network address translation (NAT) and network address and port translation (NAPT) - Dying gasp support CS9014A RF-enabled The GPON CS9014A provides all of the features of the CS9004A, but also adds the ability to handle digital RF video signals. In addition to providing advanced triple-play services like IPTV, voice and high-speed Internet, the CS9014A enables subscribers to access next-generation services like video on demand (VOD).
