Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) Insurance is a way to give you peace of mind. GAP INSURANCE PAYOUT Original purchase price Finance owed Honda GAP Insurance will cover you for the difference between your car s insurance company s valuation in the open market and the price Insurance payout you paid for it. As a result, you don t lose out and you are in a position to replace your Honda with one of an equivalent value or, pay off the outstanding balance of your finance agreement, whichever is the greater amount. Insurance payout Even though you re insured, the insurance company payout will probably reflect the current market value and fees, not the full cost of replacing your car. A year later, it gets written off by the insurance company following an accident or theft. In this event, you would normally be sent a cheque for the current market value: call it 14,000. Which means either finding another 6,000 to buy a brand new Honda, or settling for something not quite as good. What s worse, with every passing year, that shortfall s just going to get bigger. You buy your new Honda for 20,000 and the same misfortune strikes, but as well as the cheque for 14,000 from the insurance company, you also get a cheque for up to 6,000 from us, helping you to afford another brand new Honda for the original purchase price. With cover for up to four years (on new vehicles, and 3 years on used vehicles) it doesn t matter how much the value of your car decreases, we ll help you to bridge the gap.* 04 * Certain extras are excluded from the purchase price of the vehicle when we calculate our payment to you. SIMPLE PEACE OF MIND We pay you the difference between the original purchase price (or the amount owing on your finance agreement if greater) and the amount your insurance company will give you if the car is written off as a result of an accident, malicious damage, fire, theft or flood. Simple, Flexible, Convenient. Honda GAP Insurance is available on new and used Honda vehicles (up to 9 years old). You can be covered for up to 3 years (4 years on new cars). Once the claim has been processed, we will settle any outstanding finance and send you a cheque for the difference. It s flexible and convenient - you can pay for it in one go or over 10 months by direct debit. 06 07

Q & A's Q. What is Honda GAP Insurance? A. If your vehicle is written off due to an accident, malicious damage, fire, theft or flood damage, motor insurers typically only pay out the current market value of a vehicle, not the value of a new replacement. This could leave you with insufficient funds to pay off any outstanding finance or to purchase a new vehicle. Honda GAP Insurance is a combined GAP Insurance product designed to protect you against these losses. Q. What is combined GAP Insurance? A. This is a combined GAP Insurance product, combining Financial Shortfall and Return to Invoice GAP. The policy will pay out the greater of the two benefits. Financial Shortfall GAP (FS GAP) pays the difference between the amount paid by your comprehensive motor insurance provider s policy and the amount required to settle your outstanding finance. Your comprehensive motor insurer will typically pay the market value of your vehicle when it is deemed a total loss. Return to Invoice GAP (RTI) pays the difference between the amount paid by the comprehensive motor insurer's policy and the original purchase price of the vehicle. Q. Do I have to take out Honda GAP Insurance? A: No, all Honda Finance insurance products are optional. Q. Is there a maximum amount Honda GAP Insurance will pay out? A: The maximum payout for combined Honda GAP Insurance is upto the maximum purchase price of 42,500 dependent on the vehicles sale price. Q. How many years can I be covered? A: For GAP the maximum term on new cars is four years, and on used cars (or where you have chosen to defer the start date on your new car) it is three years. Q. What happens if the term of the Honda GAP Insurance policy is shorter than the term of the finance agreement? A: With Honda GAP Insurance, cover will cease at three or four years dependant on the GAP policy taken. Q. Can I defer the start date of the plan? A: Yes, you can defer the start date, however only on new cars within 30 days of the date of first registration. The policy start date can be delayed for up to 12 months from the date of first registration. During the period of deferment, no cover will be provided and you will not receive any payment under the GAP policy if your vehicle is deemed a total loss during this period. It is therefore important that you ensure that your comprehensive motor insurance offers replacement vehicle cover for this period." Q. Will the policy cover the final payment I have arranged as part of my finance agreement? A: Yes, your cover is for the amount financed which includes the final payment (also known as the Guaranteed Future Value) subject to the maximum payout for the policy. Q. Will my policy be automatically cancelled when I settle my finance? A: No. If you have combined GAP, RTI will still provide cover for up to 4 years, dependant on the policy you have chosen, even if you settle your finance. Q. How long do I have to take out Honda GAP Insurance? A: 30 days from the vehicle purchase date for new cars and 90 days for used cars. Q. Will Honda GAP Insurance cover my motor insurance policy excess? A: Our policies do not cover any motor insurance excess. 08 09

10 Q. If I sell my car, can I transfer my policy to the new owner? A: Policies cannot be transferred to another owner of the vehicle unless it is a family member as detailed in the policy terms and conditions. However, you can cancel your policy at any time. Please see your cancellation rights in the policy terms and conditions. Q. I own the car and have it insured in my name but my spouse/partner is a named driver. Is he/she covered? A: Yes, Honda GAP Insurance covers all named drivers on your comprehensive motor insurance policy. Q. If I replace my vehicle, can I transfer my Honda GAP Insurance policy from the old vehicle to the new one? A: If your vehicle was a new vehicle when you bought it, and is written off and you receive a new replacement vehicle from your comprehensive motor insurer, your cover under the policy would continue for the replaced vehicle. Otherwise, you can cancel the Honda GAP Insurance on your old vehicle and take out a new policy on your new vehicle, provided the new vehicle meets the policy eligibility criteria. Q. If I take out Honda GAP Insurance, do I have to be the policyholder on the car insurance? A: Yes, to take out Honda GAP Insurance you must be the registered keeper and/or the owner of the vehicle, and the policyholder on the comprehensive motor insurance. Q. What vehicles can be covered by Honda GAP? A: Honda GAP Insurance can be purchased for passenger cars. The vehicle must be under 9 years old and have a purchase price of up to 42,500 at the date of purchase (dependant on the policy chosen). You and the vehicle will need to meet all the eligibility criteria for the selected cover. Some types of vehicle or vehicles used for certain activities are not eligible. Further details are provided in the policy summary. Q. Can I pay by monthly instalments? A: Yes you can pay for the total policy over 10 months by Direct Debit, interest free. Q. Which company provides the insurance? A: London General Insurance Company Limited. Q. How do I cancel a policy? A: Telephone TWG Services Limited on 0844 871 7742 and they will outline the procedure you need to follow. There are more details about your cancellation rights in the policy summary and the terms and conditions. Q. If I cancel my policy what refund can I expect? A: You will receive a full refund if the cancellation is within 14 days of the start date of the policy or receipt by you of the policy documents, whichever is the latter, providing you have not made a claim. If you cancel after 14 days your refund is calculated on a pro rata complete month basis, minus a fixed amount of 35 to cover costs incurred in relation to the cancelled policy. Q. When would Honda GAP Insurance not pay out? A: The main exclusions are detailed within the policy summary of cover and a full list of exclusions is detailed within the terms and conditions. The main exclusions are, for example, if the vehicle is written off whilst you or anyone insured to drive it is driving without a valid licence, is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or is driving whilst disqualified; or any motor insurance excess. Q. Does Honda GAP Insurance cover me whilst I am abroad? A: Yes, you are covered to drive your vehicle in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, and provided your vehicle is covered by comprehensive motor insurance at all times, cover will be extended to the countries of the European Economic Area. Q. How do I make a claim? A: Telephone TWG Services Limited (TWG) on 0844 871 7742 and ask for a Claim Form to be sent. They will also outline the procedure you need to follow. You should not accept any offer from your comprehensive motor insurers until TWG has given you authority to do so, or TWG may calculate their liability using the market value at the date of loss. 11

ELIGIBILITY 12 HONDA FINANCE EUROPE Return to Invoice and Financial Shortfall GAP Insurance Policy Summary This is a summary of the cover provided by your Honda Selling dealer (please refer back to the status disclosure). London General Insurance Company Limited underwrite this insurance. A copy of the full terms and conditions is available upon request. You are eligible for cover on the date of application for this policy if: You are applying as an individual, you are 18 years of age or older and are resident in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man; or You are applying as a company, that company is registered in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man; and You have purchased this policy no later than 30 days after purchasing the insured vehicle for new vehicles, and less than 9 years old for used vehicles. The insured vehicle is eligible for cover if: It is the sole vehicle listed in the finance agreement (if any); and It is covered by comprehensive motor insurance; and It is registered in the United Kingdom and you are the policyholder or named on the comprehensive motor insurance policy; and It has a purchase price of no more than 42,500. Please note: The following vehicles and vehicle uses are not eligible for cover: Any American make of vehicle unless: - it was manufactured as a right hand drive; and - purchased from an authorised UK distributor and not imported directly; and Grey imports*, emergency vehicles, taxis, courier vehicles, buses, coaches, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, motor homes, trailers, heavy goods vehicles, licensed private hire vehicles, daily rental vehicles, breakdown and recovery vehicles; and Vehicles used for hire and reward, driving school tuition, chauffeuring, road racing, track days (timed or untimed), rallying, pace-making, speed testing or any other competitive event; and Any vehicle that has been modified after the purchase date, outside the manufacturer s specification (for example engine enhancements or lowering of the suspension). Any NSX model. * A new or used vehicle that does not comply with European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) imported into any EU Member State from a non EU country. The ECWVTA provides a mechanism for ensuring that vehicles meet relevant environmental and safety standards. It allows a vehicle of a type to be approved for use across all member states in the EU without the need for further testing in each country. FEATURES & BENEFITS In the event of your motor insurer declaring the insured vehicle a total loss, for example as a result of accidental or malicious damage, fire, theft or flood damage, the policy will pay the greater of: Return to Invoice - the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the sum paid under the comprehensive motor insurance to you. The purchase price is the amount paid to purchase the insured vehicle including any factory fitted options, dealer fitted accessories up to 500 including VAT, and VAT if applicable and you cannot reclaim it. If you have any outstanding balance on your finance agreement, we will pay this to the finance company first, and then pay any remaining benefit due to you. OR Financial Shortfall - the amount (if any) by which the settlement figure including credit arrangement fees exceeds the sum paid under the comprehensive motor insurance. Please refer to the main exclusions section below in conjunction with these benefits to ensure you understand what you are covered for. Important: The maximum amount payable in respect of a claim shall not exceed the purchase price. No amount will be payable in respect of any credit provided under the finance agreement (if any) which exceeds the purchase price of the vehicle. 13

14 If you have an outstanding balance on your finance agreement, we will pay this to the finance company first, and then pay any remaining benefit due to you The maximum amount payable in respect of a claim shall not exceed 500 of Dealer fitted accessories including VAT if applicable and you cannot reclaim it. Dealer fitted accessories specifically exclude any form of Paint and Fabric/Vinyl/ Leather protection (paintwork and/or upholstery protection kits). If your motor insurer makes a reduced total loss payment we reserve the right to reduce our liability by this amount. The vehicle is covered in the UK, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands. Cover is extended whilst driving the insured vehicle in countries of the European Economic Area subject to your comprehensive motor insurance being extended during such period. Please note: If the vehicle is new at the date of purchase and you are entitled to, or are offered a replacement vehicle on a new for old basis under the terms of the comprehensive motor insurance, no benefit is payable under this policy other than in exceptional circumstances. You may however transfer your remaining cover to the replacement vehicle. POLICY TERM Your protection starts on the start date on your schedule and ends on the earliest of the following: - the date you fail to pay your premium when due; or - the date the insured vehicle is sold, repossessed, disposed of by you or the finance company, or transferred to a new owner, other than in accordance with the terms and conditions; or - the date of a claim being settled by us; or - the date of your death; or - the expiry date as detailed on your schedule. MAIN EXCLUSIONS No benefit will be paid: If the insured vehicle is not covered by comprehensive motor insurance at the date of loss. If the insured vehicle does not meet the eligibility criteria above. If you or anyone insured to drive the insured vehicle is deemed to have been driving without a valid licence, is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or is driving whilst disqualified. For any finance or outstanding debt and resulting interest due on or carried across to your insured vehicle from previous finance agreements (if any). CLAIMS To make a claim please contact the Claims Department by calling 0844 871 7742 or by writing to GAP Insurance Claims Department, TWG Services Limited, The Aspen Building, Floor 2, Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, GL17 0AF. COMPLAINTS For complaints relating to the selling of this insurance please write to the supplying dealer from which the insurance was purchased and whose details were provided to you in their Status Disclosure at point of sale. For complaints relating to the terms of this policy, administration or claims handling under this insurance please contact the Customer Relations Department at TWG Services Limited, The Aspen Building, Floor 2, Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire GL17 0AF, by telephoning 0330 100 3246 or emailing customer.relations@thewarrantygroup.com If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may, within 6 months of a final decision, contact the Financial Ombudsman Service, Exchange Tower, London E14 9SR or telephone 0800 023 4567 / 0300 123 9 123. None of the above affects any right of action you may have. DEFERRED POLICIES If you have chosen to defer your policy, then during this period of deferment we will not provide cover and will have no liability if your vehicle is a total loss whether or not your comprehensive motor insurance offers a replacement vehicle. It is therefore very important that you ensure that your comprehensive motor insurance offers replacement vehicle cover for this period. GENERAL Law Applicable: Unless agreed to the contrary prior to the policy inception, this policy shall be subject to English law. Language: This policy is written in English and all correspondence entered into shall be in English. Insurer: The insurer is London General Insurance Company Limited registered number 1865673, whose head and registered offices are at Integra House, Floor 2, Vicarage Road, Egham, Surrey TW20 9JZ. The insurer is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, FRN 202689. Compensation scheme: You may be entitled to compensation under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in the event that we are unable to meet our liabilities in full. You are covered for 90% of the entire claim without upper limit. IMPORTANT: - Benefit is conditional upon you receiving a total loss payment under the comprehensive motor insurance. You must contact us before accepting a settlement offer from the motor insurer. - Cancellation: You have the right to cancel your policy at any time. If you wish to cancel within 14 days of the start date or receipt of the policy terms and conditions, whichever is the later, please notify the Supplying Dealer. If you cancel within 14 days and have not made a claim on the policy, any insurance premium paid by you will be refunded in full. If you wish to cancel at any time after 14 days and have not made a claim on the policy, please notify TWG Services Limited on 0844 871 7742 or write to them at the address above. You will be entitled to a pro rata refund, based on the number of full unexpired months remaining on your policy minus a fixed amount of 35 to cover our costs incurred in relation to the cancelled policy. - If the motor insurer reduces the total loss payment for any reason, for example in relation to any damage not associated with the incident giving rise to the claim, we will settle your claim based on the market value and not the settlement amount offered by the comprehensive motor insurer. The market value is determined in accordance with published industry data at the date of the incident giving rise to your claim of a vehicle which is the equivalent age make recorded mileage and model as the insured vehicle. - When applying for or varying your cover or submitting a claim, you and anyone acting on your behalf must take reasonable care to answer questions to the best of your knowledge. Failure to do so may affect the validity of your policy or payment of your claim. 15
