Educational Platform in Lodz Beneficient: City of Lodz An excellent example of the use of cloud solutions in education is the Educational Platform of Lodz, which has more than 150,000 users. By leveraging cloud technologies on municipal servers, the city of Lodz has deployed this broad-scale educational platform, on which users dynamically manage their educational content, without the need to buy expensive software or costly hardware. Dynamic lessons Such solutions allow teachers and lecturers to make lessons more attractive, using the huge repositories of multimedia resources available in the cloud Personalised approach Pupils can access educational resources including lessons, courses, revision aids, and so on without the pressures of time or barriers of geography Flexibility Foremost of the advantages for schools or universities are the much lower costs of infrastructure maintenance when using cloud resources. Costs can thus be significantly reduced during holidays as compared to during the school year or end-of-term examinations
Broker Internet platform for cloud services providers The project is currently starting. A platform that will serve as an intermediary between service providers in the cloud (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) and their customers. Main targets of the project: Small and Medium Enterprises providing IaaS, SaaS and PaaS solutions. But also local government structures (gminy, powiaty), schools, colleges etc. Total value of the project: 700 000 PLN Platform: 250 000 PLN Co-financing from the operational programme Innovative economy, through a dedicated fund MicroBioLab that invest in start-ups, monitored by the PARP agency
Broker Internet platform for cloud services providers Configurator: ü The main functionality will be a configurator, which - depending on the profile of the company / industry is to present a list of SaaS solutions tailored to its needs (grouped by function - storage, finance, office applications, graphics applications, etc., as well as by price, user ratings, certification of EuroCloud, etc.). ü The configurator will also suggest IaaS platforms with the appropriate resources necessary to provide the selected applications in the cloud. ü Consequently, SaaS providers must first complete an extensive questionnaire on their needs. ü Planned is also a list of the best specific solutions according to different business branches. ü In the end of the selection process, the SaaS customer receives the valuation of monthly fees.

Data Center in Radom for the Ministry of finance More than 2600m2! The construction costs of the Data Center amounted to 47.52 million PLN. Preparation and implementation of the construction of the Infrastructure were financed under the project consolidation and centralization of customs and tax systems co-financed from EU funds. The value of EU funding was 85% (POIG) and 15% from national sources. The total project s value is 167 million PLN. Are such IT infrastructure investments affordable for other institutions /Public administration/ Health services/ etc.? Should the public administration trust and buy cloud services instead?
