Latin America Public-Private Partners Workshop April 10-11, 2014 Hotel Madero, Rosario Vera Peñaloza 360 Buenos Aires, Argentina PROGRAM In collaboration with the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL-ECLAC) and the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Argentina, the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP), an international organisation composed of the leading electricity companies from around the world, is pleased to invite you to participate in a unique workshop initiative aimed at fostering dialogue on the lessons learned and the best practices for the development of renewable and sustainable energy projects, which will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 10-11, 2014. The initiative is designed to stimulate discussions and share perspectives on concrete ways and means to promote real Public-Private Partnerships for Renewable Energy projects in LAC countries. The discussions will be enhanced by the presentation of lessons learned from recent renewable energy projects conducted in Latin America that could be used as templates for the successful development of sustainable renewable energy facilities in today's social, economic and global environment. The objective is to identify the main drivers and obstacles to scaling up those projects as a means to increase economic opportunity through electrification while also addressing key environmental concerns such as climate change. The workshop will consist of interactive panel discussions moderated by national and international project developers and experts, who will address and work in collaboration with attending government, power sector, financing institutions and electrification development community representatives from the region.
