System i Access for Web Configuring an Integrated Web Application Server Instance Third Edition (August 2013) This edition supplements the 6.1 System i Access for Web Information Center documentation. IBM Corporation 2008, 2013. All rights reserved. U.S. Government Users Restricted Rights Use, duplication or disclosure restricted by GSA ADP Schedule Contract with IBM Corporation. This example is for users that are not familiar with the Web serving environment. It describes all the steps necessary to get System i Access for Web running in an Integrated Web Application Server 7.1 instance. It also describes how to verify that the setup is working. Before you can configure System i Access for Web for an Integrate Web Application Server instance, you must ensure that the required PTF is applied or superseded on your system. This PTF provides functionality so that System i Access for Web can be deployed in an Integrated Web Application Server instance. Use this command to verify that you have the correct PTF applied or superseded: DSPPTF LICPGM(5761XH2) SELECT(SI29664) You must also ensure that the required level of the HTTP PTF group or a higher level is installed on your system. This level of the HTTP PTF group provides functionality for creating Integrated Web Application Server instances in which System i Access for Web can be deployed. Use the following command to verify the required level of the HTTP PTF group or a higher level is installed: For V5R4 i5/os: WRKPTFGRP PTFGRP(SF99114) Make sure level 13 or higher is installed. For V6R1 i5/os: WRKPTFGRP PTFGRP(SF99115) Make sure level 1 or higher is installed. Configuring your Web serving environment consists of these steps: Start the IBM Web Administration for i5/os interface. See step 1. Create an Integrated Web Application Server V7.1 instance. See step 2. Configure System i Access for Web. See step 3. Start the Web environment. See step 4. Use a browser to access System i Access for Web. See step 5. Page 1 of 5

Steps to configure the Web serving environment: 1. Start the IBM Web Administration for i5/os interface a. Start a 5250 session to the system b. Sign on with a user profile that has at least these special authorities: *ALLOBJ, *IOSYSCFG, *JOBCTL, and *SECADM c. Run the following command to start the web administration interface job: STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN) d. Minimize the 5250 session 2. Create an Integrated Web Application Server V7.1 instance a. Open a browser to http://<system_name>:2001/httpadmin b. Log in with a user profile that has at least these special authorities: *ALLOBJ, *IOSYSCFG, *JOBCTL, and *SECADM c. Select the Setup tabbed page d. Under Common Tasks and Wizards, select Create Application Server e. Select Next f. Under i5/os integrated Web application server, select V7.1 and select Next g. The Specify Application Server Name page opens. For Application server name, specify IWA71IAS. This will be the name of the Integrated Web Application Server instance. Select Next. h. The Specify Internal Ports Used by the Application Server page opens. For First port in range, change the default value to 21060. This port number is an example. You should verify this port is available for use or use a port you know is available. Select Next. i. The Create a new HTTP server (powered by Apache) page opens. For HTTP server name, use the default value of IWA71IAS For port, change the default value to 2060. This port number is an example. Start the Qshell environment by using the following CL command: ii. iii. iv. QSH Make the System i Access for Web install directory is the current directory by running the following command: cd /QIBM/ProdData/Access/Web2/install Configure System i Access for Web for the Integrated Web Application Server instance by running the following command: cfgaccweb2 -appsvrtype *INTAPPSVR -instance IWA71IAS These are the parameters used: -appsvrtype Tells the command which Web application server to configure. -instance Tells the command the name of the Integrated Web Application Server instance to configure. Migration Note: If you are already using System i Access for Web within another Web application server, see System i Access > System i Access for Web > System i Access for Web in a Web application server environment > Configuring System i Access for Web > New Web application server considerations in the IBM i 6.1 Information Center (http://www.ibm.com/systems/i/infocenter/) under Connection to System i. This topic discusses additional cfgaccweb2 script parameters that can be used to migrate user data from an existing configuration to this new configuration. For example, if you currently use System i Access for Web within a WebSphere Application Server Express V6.1 for i5/os profile named IWA61EXP, the cfgaccweb2 script can migrate your System i Access for Web WebSphere Application Server configuration to the Integrate Web Application Server instance by running the following command: cfgaccweb2 -appsvrtype *INTAPPSVR -instance IWA71IAS -srcsvrtype *WAS61EXP -srcsvrinst IWA61EXP -shrusrdta *NO Several Messages similar to the following will be displayed: Configuring System i Access for Web.
