SCOPE OF PRACTICE RULES AEMT Skills: Airways not intended for trachea IV D25/D50 Glucagon Nebulizers Narcan IV and Intranasal IO Pediatrics* Nitrous Oxide** * AEMT may be taught adult IO at the service level with medical director approval, protocols, QA and documentation competency. ** AEMT will be taught Nitrous Oxide in didactic however if service administers Nitrous Oxide in protocol the service will need to have documentation of competency by the AEMT in administration according to service protocols.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS The Board may grant full approval for a period of five (5) years to a program that has met the requirements that are set forth by the Board and the policies of the Office of EMS
EDUCATION PROGRAMS File a written request to EMS Regional Consultant for approval with at least thirty (30) days prior to the start date of classes. Practical Exam date Sufficient supervised practice (1-12 student ratio)
EDUCATION PROGRAMS All programs are required to maintain a first attempt licensure pass rate annually as approved by the Board. Education committee will be reviewing proposal Board will set pass rate Effective date January 1, 2015
EDUCATION PROGRAMS Should a program fail to maintain the required pass rate it shall: Receive a Letter of Concern from the Office of EMS. Second Year failure to meet required pass rate Letter of Warning and be required to submit a Plan of Correction to the Office outlining its plan for improvement.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS Fail to achieve the required pass rate for a third year, a representative from the approved program shall be required to appear before the Board. The Board may, in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act (UAPA), condition, suspend, or revoke the educational institution s approval.

DATES TO REMEMBER May 31 2014 last day to complete EMT IV June 1, 2014 all programs must follow National Education Standards for Scope of Practice May 31, 2016 last day to license as EMT IV December 31, 2016 transition deadline January 1, 2015 new renewal requirements effective.
