Summary Software Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging trend in today's networking industry. It is changing the way a network is designed, built, and operated to achieve business agility. SDN framework allows to decouple control plane from the forwarding plane of a switched environment. As a result, it transforms a closed & proprietary network, into an open and programmable component of the larger cloud infrastructure. This gives network owners and operators more control of their infrastructure and it optimizes Capex and Opex significantly. L&T Technology services understands the need and pulse of SDN and introduces SDN centric solutions that helps to address the requirements of Switch, router vendors as well as operators. L&T technology services have made significant investments in SDN. Our offerings and expertise spans across various layers of the SDN network namely Network,Control Layer & Application layer. SDN Evolution at L&T TS L&T technology Services has made significant progress in design and development of SDN centric solution since 2011 as shown in the diagram below. Figure 1

Figure 2 shows below the various offerings in SDN domain. SDN Applications Overview Figure 2 L&T TS has developed a controller independant re usable NMC framework in compliance with SDN protocols.it is a REST API & open day light based client server architecture with Tom Cat server as a centralized controller. End points or Clients can be any device. Benefits: Traffic monitoring of switches & host Maintaining historical traffic data in database Data usage graphs for Live and Historical network traffics (Figure 3b) Tx and Rx traffic on a specific link Cumulative data usage of a switch / host Packet flow filtering (TCP, UDP & ICMP) Graphical view of the network (Figure 3a) Grouping users by Admin into different class of service. Assigning policies to every class of service Already created policies can be applied to another user as the repository of Policies is maintained Figure 3a Figure 3b

SDN Test Framework L&T Technology services is focusing to develop a comprehensive test suite covering two areas of pre-certification test namely Conformance test & Interoperability Test (IOT) Conformance Test: A comprehensive Test suit with Industry Tier 1 vendor Switches to validate the compliance of Open flow enabled switches with ONF specifications OF Test - framework and test suite to test compliance to the Open Flow specification Interoperability test (IOT): A comprehensive test framework to test different functionalities of open flow switch in a multi controller environment & IOT with multiple switches. Test functionalities developed (including the ones which are under development) are: IPv6, STP/RSTP, Legacy compliance, QoS support, LLDP validation & Negative test cases, Hot standby, Fault tolerance of the switch, OF_config, Routing optimization, Bandwidth allocation, Isolation between virtual network for unicast, multicast and broadcast & Live migration of switch. Differentiators L&T with its capable technical resources have the expertise to understand and implement SDN and its challenges. In fact, we are associated with open daylight project since prehydrogen release. The key differentiating factors for choosing L&T technology service as your preferred vendor for SDN implementation are our deep domain expertise in building SDN solutions; availability of re-usable SDN solution accelerators and readily available SDN test lab for pre-certification test. L&T technology service is with you to support in delivering customer centric, scalable and cost effective solutions & applications in SDN that would optimize CAPEX & OPEX of your organization. For further details about innovative and cost effective business & collaboration models for SDN please contact your nearest L&T technology services sales office.
