Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Release Notes Release 13.2.5 October 2012 Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM) Release 13.2.5 is a patch release for SIM 13.2. SIM 13.2.5 includes selected defect fixes and enhancements for SIM 13.2 code. Oracle Customer Support investigates submitted issues assuming that all released updates have been applied. It is the customer's decision when to apply a new release; however, delays in applying updates can complicate the support process. About Patch Releases Oracle Retail patch releases are periodic releases that can include the following: New defect fixes Product enhancements Technology upgrades Performance fixes Documentation for patch releases includes new and updated guides (for example, Operations Guides, User Guides, and so on) that apply to the patch release level. These documents include applicable updates made since the last patch release. Documents revised for this patch release supersede and replace all previous document versions. See "Related Documentation" for a list of the documents published for SIM 13.2.5. Note: Customers must apply the entire patch release to update their installation to the currently supported level. Hardware and Software Requirements See the Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Installation Guide for information about the following: Hardware and software requirements Oracle Retail application software compatibility 1

Applying the Patch Release Before applying the SIM 13.2.5 patch release, be sure that: SIM 13.2 has been installed Patch releases SIM 13.2.1, 13.2.3, and 13.2.4 have been applied Note: To align release numbers with other Oracle Retail products, release number 13.2.2 was skipped. You can apply all the fixes by applying the SIM 13.2.5 patch release. See "About Patch Releases." Before applying the release over your files: Note whether any modules have been customized. If so, the customizations must be reapplied to the new version of the module, or the fix may need to be applied to the custom version of the code. Copy the original files to a different directory before you copy over them, in case you need to refer to them at a later date. Running Scripts Back up data before running any script, because the scripts provided do not preserve data. See defect reports for details. Check with your database administrator to determine whether your database should be analyzed after a script is run. In many cases, analysis of the database is necessary to take advantage of new or modified indexes intended to improve performance of the application. Functional Enhancements Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Release 13.2.5 introduces the following functional enhancement. Quick Print Mobile SIM users do not need to select the printer and label format each time a ticket is printed. Once the formats are selected for printing the first ticket in a session, the same formats are used for printing any other tickets in that session. A Quick Print privilege is added. A user who has this privilege can print tickets using default settings rather than make selections on the screens. For more information, see the Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Implementation Guide, Volume 3 - Mobile Store Inventory Management and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Operations Guide. 2

Technical Enhancements This section addresses the technical enhancements included in Oracle Retail Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management, Release 13.2.5. Note: The list below announces the addition of Oracle Retail support for the technology described. See the Installation Guide requirements section for critical information, such as whether the enhancement below replaces previous versions or is supported in addition to already existing versions. Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11gR1 To assist you with this technical enhancement, Oracle Retail has published the following document on My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com): Oracle Access Manager and Single Sign-On Whitepaper (My Oracle Support Doc ID 1492047.1) This case study details the steps needed to create a Single Sign-On environment on a WebLogic Server 10.3.6 using Oracle Access Manager 11.1.1.5. The goal of this document is not to be a substitute for OAM documentation but to illustrate how Oracle Retail approached and performed its setup. Oracle Solaris 11 on Oracle SPARC Oracle Solaris 11 on Oracle SPARC. Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher 11gR1 (11.1.1.6) Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher 11gR1 (11.1.1.6). IBM AIX 7 IBM AIX 7. Microsoft Windows 7 Client Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Client Operating System. Browser Support the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Mozilla Firefox 10 System 3

Defect Fixes and Documentation A defect fix is a modification to the base Oracle Retail code (for example, a bug fix, a performance enhancement, or a functional enhancement). Each defect fix that is included in this release has a corresponding defect report titled <defect-number>.pdf (for example, 12345678.PDF). Review each defect report carefully before implementing the defect fixes. Note that scripts do not preserve data. Make sure that all data is backed up before you run any script. Noteworthy Defect Fixes The following table highlights the noteworthy defect fixes and enhancements for Release 13.2.5. This is not a complete list. See the DEFECT MODULE XREF SIM 13.2.5.XLS spreadsheet and defect reports included with this release for the complete list and full details. See the Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management Installation Guide for Release 13.2.5 for instructions to apply the defect fixes and enhancements that you have not already applied. Defect Number Summary 13697950 When attempting to delete a stock count, a severe system error occurs. 13819847 When the ResaFileParser.sh batch is run with over 100 input files (for 100 different stores), the batch abruptly terminates. 13924298 Two SQL queries that are running consume a lot of the resources on the production server. This slows down the performance of other SQL queries. 14037429 With a large number of items in a single stock count, the snapshot count is updated for all items in the stock count instead of only the POS transaction item. This occurs for a POS to SIM transaction using web services. 14079176 When creating a DSD in SIM, the Vendor does not source this item check occurs although an item supplier mapping exists in the system. 14099813 With this enhancement, Mobile SIM users do not need to select the printer and label format every time a ticket is printed.
