See Section 8 for exposure guidelines & Section 11 for toxicology and ingredient specific information. Emergency Overview WHITE TRANSLUCENT CRYSTALS SOLID; NO ODOR; GASTROINTESTINAL IRRITATION. EYE IRRITANT. RESPIRATORY IRRITANT. REACTS WITH ACIDS TO FORM TOXIC AND IRRITATING SULFUR DIOXIDE GAS AND/OR HYDROGEN SULFIDE GAS. 1/6

Potential Health Hazards Eyes Ingestion Inhalation This product contains a component which is an eye irritant. The acute oral toxicity of this material is between 500 and 5000 mg/kg. Relative to other materials, this material is classified as slightly toxic by ingestion. In humans, irritation of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and stomach can develop following ingestion of this material. Particulates of this material will probably irritate eyes, nose, and respiratory passages. SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES Inhalation Remove victim to fresh air. If redness, itching or burning sensation develops, get medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing and decontaminate footwear before reuse. Eye contact Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If redness, itching, or a burning sensation develops, have eyes examined and treated by medical personnel. Ingestion DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Give one or two glasses of water to drink and refer to medical personnel or take direction from either a physician or a poison control center. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. SECTION 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Flammable Properties Not applicable Lower explosion limit Method: No Data Upper explosion limit Method: No Data Extinguishing agents Not applicable. Use media suitable for surrounding fire. Specific hazards during fire fighting Emits toxic and irritating fumes of sulfur oxides when heated to decomposition. 2/6

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters Self-contained breathing apparatus with full facepiece and protective clothing if involved in a fire of other materials. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions Wear skin, eye, and respiratory protection during cleanup. Methods for cleaning up Recover material into a chemical waste container. Do not mix or contaminate with incompatible materials. Cover container and remove from work area. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Prevent skin and eye contact. Normal chemical handling and storage. Avoid breathing particulates. If dissolving and mixing solutions with anhydrous material, the reaction is exothermic and the solution will retain heat; with the hydrate (crystal) material, the reaction is endothermic and the solution will cool. Requirements for storage areas and containers Store in a tightly sealed container away from incompatible materials. SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering measures Use permitted ventilation adequate to maintain safe levels. Eye protection Eye contact with the material should be avoided through the use of chemical safety glasses, goggles or a faceshield, selected in regard to exposure potential. Skin and body protection Wear impervious gloves and apron. 3/6

Respiratory protection Use NIOSH certified full facepiece respirator for dusts where exposure to the dust may occur. Hygienic measures Eyewash station in work area. Occupational Hydrogen sulfide is a decomposition product of this material. The ACGIH TLV for hydrogen sulfide is 10 ppm, 8-hour TWA and a STEL of 15 ppm. The OSHA PEL is 20 ppm as a ceiling concentration limit. Excursions above 20 ppm are permitted for a maximum duration of 10 minutes only if not other measurable exposure occurs and 50 ppm is never exceeded anytime during the work shift. Occupational Decomposes to sulfur dioxide if contact occurs with acids. The ACGIH TLV for sulfur dioxide is 2 ppm, 8-hour TWA with a 15-minute STEL of 5 ppm. The OSHA PEL is 5 ppm (13 mg/m3).
