Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. Please keep these instructions in a safe place, and ensure you include them if you pass the Hair Curler on to a new owner. 2. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments. 3. Getting Started Before First Use Remove any packaging material and promotion labels before using your Hair Curler for the first time. NOTE: Ensure the Hair Curler, cord and plug are not damaged and in good working order before disposing of the original packaging. Preparing Your Hair Ensure your hair is clean and completely dry before using the Hair Curler. Comb through hair to prevent knots and tangles. It is recommended to use an anti-frizz spray or styling mousse before using the Hair Curler as the static from the barrels can result in unwanted frizz. Temperature Setting The Visage Hair Curler has variable temperature control ranging from 30 C - 200 C, in 0 C increments. The table below is a guide only, consult a hair professional if you are unsure what setting is best suited to your hair type. Temperature Setting Guide Temperature Hair Type Setting 30 C Fine, bleached or chemically treated hair 40 C Thin, easy to curl hair 50 C 60 C Normal hair 70 C 80 C Curly, wavy hair 90 C Thick, hard to style hair 200 C Automatic Shut-Off This appliance has an automatic shut-off safety feature. The appliance will turn off automatically after 30 minutes. Instructions Use. Select your desired barrel to use. 2. Insert the barrel into the Hair Curler, ensuring the flat edges line up. The barrel should lock into place by the internal magnets. 3. Plug the Hair Curler into a mains power outlet and turn on. WARNING: If the barrel does not connect in the to handle firmly, do not use, contact customer service immediately. NOTE: The safety rest should be facing opposite the control panel. 4. Hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds to turn On. 5. The display will be flashing. Use the + or buttons to set the desired temperature. After a few seconds the set temperature will automatically lock; this will be evident by the symbol being displayed. NOTE: The default temperature is 30 C, you can change the temperature in 0 C increments up to 200 C. WARNING: The curler will start heating straight away. Do not touch the barrels when in use as there is a risk of being burnt. 6. Once the set temperature has been reached, the display will stop flashing and the curler is ready to use. 7. To change the temperature again, press and hold the Timer/Lock button until the symbol disappears. Use the + or buttons to change the temperature. NOTE: If you select a lower temperature than already set, the unit may take some time to cool back to that temperature. It is recommended to set a lower temperature first. WARNING: Always use the Hair Curler with the included glove. Take extreme care to avoid contact between the hot barrels and skin. 8. When finished, hold the On/Off button to switch off. Instructions Timer Function The Hair Curler has a handy timer function that lets you choose from 3 time settings (5, 8 or 0 seconds) to achieve different levels of curls. Time Results 5 Seconds Soft Curls 8 Seconds Beachy Curls 0 Seconds Tight Curls. Follow instructions listed on page 8 to step 6. 2. Press the Timer/Lock button to select between the 5, 8 or 0 second setting. The display will show which time setting you have selected with a small corresponding number in the bottom left. 3. Once you have selected your time setting, press the timer on button to start the timer. NOTE: Press the timer button once your section of hair is curled around the barrel. 4. Once the set time is finished, the unit will beep 3 times to indicate the set time has been reached. Release your hair at this point. How To Curl Your Hair. If you are right handed wear the finger glove on your left index finger and thumb and hold the Hair Curler in your right hand Exchange hands if you are left handed 2. For ease of curling section your hair and hold back the hair you do not want to curl in a hair clip 3. Hold the Hair Curler close to your head and wind your hair around the barrel starting at the base of your hair 4. Hold the ends of your hair close to the barrel, your fingers will be protected from the heat if you are wearing the finger glove 5. Press the timer on button and wait for the Hair Curler to beep 6. Release your hair and spray with hair spray to maintain your curl Changing Barrels Included are three different barrel sizes; 9mm, 25mm and 9/32mm.. Ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged. 2. If recently used, wait until the barrels have completely cooled down and can be handled. 3. Pull out the barrel, it should release from the handle with minimal force. 4. Cleaning & Storage To clean the handle or barrels, ensure the appliance is turned off and unplugged. Let the barrels cool down completely if recently used. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the surface of the handle or barrels. When storing the Hair Curler, ensure you do not wrap the cord around the handle as, in time, this may cause the cord to fracture. FAQ Problem The appliance won t turn on? The barrels are not fitting together correctly? I can t change the temperature? Solution Ensure the cord is plugged into a power outlet and is switched on. You must hold down the On/Off button for approx. 3 seconds to turn the unit on. Ensure the barrels are orientated correctly according to the instructions listed on page 8. If the barrels will not lock into the handle, cease use immediately and contact customer service. The temperature selected will eventually lock into place. To change the temperature, hold the Timer/Lock button to unlock and change the temperature.
