Mounting and installation 7.1 Dimensions / fastening dimensions Dimensional Drawings (All Dimensions in mm / [inches]) - Subject to Alterations 0571E00 851/01 fuse element 851/0 fuse element 7. Mounting / dismounting, operating position The fuse element must only be installed, if it is fitted in an enclosure, that meets the requirements of an approved type of protection, according to IEC / 0079-7, e.g. "Increased safety e". During installation of the component in an enclosure, that meets the requirements of the type of protection "Increased safety e", the clearance and creepage distances, according to IEC/ 0079-7, must be adhered to. NOTICE Overheating A too short distance between individual components can cause overheating. Due to thermal reasons, a minimum distance of 9 mm has to be observed when several components are connected together. Fasten the device to the mounting holes, provided for this purpose, using suitable screws and accessories (see dimensional drawings). 057E00 When mounting the component, ensure presence of a flat surface. The operating position is optional. 195 / 8510300 01-03-0 BA00 III en 0 Fuse base with fusible link Series 851 9

Maintenance and repair 7.3 Electrical Connection During installation, observe the following: The conductor must be connected carefully. The conductor insulation must reach to the clamping units. Do not damage the conductor (nicking) when stripping it. Ensure that the maximum permissible conductor temperatures and the maximum permissible surface temperature are not exceeded by selecting suitable electric lines and means of running them. 7. Commissioning Explosion hazard due to incorrect installation! Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries. Check the device for proper installation and function before commissioning. Comply with the national regulations. Before commissioning, make sure that: the components are not damaged, the device has been installed according to regulations, no foreign bodies are inside the device, all detachable connections have been tightened firmly, the prescribed tightening torques have been observed, the connection has been performed correctly. Mount / replace fuse link: - loosen safety screw. - unscrew fuse carrier. - if necessary, insert adapter. - if necessary, remove defective fuse link. - insert new fuse link into the fuse carrier. - screw the fuse carrier and the fuse link into the fuse base hand tight. - fasten the safety screw. 8 Maintenance and repair WARNING Risk of electric shock or malfunctioning of the device due to unauthorized work! Non-compliance can result in severe injuries and material damage. Work performed on the device must only be carried out by appropriately authorized and qualified electricians. 10 Fuse base with fusible link 195 / 8510300 Series 851 01-03-0 BA00 III en 0

8.1 Maintenance Maintenance and repair Danger due to energised parts! Risk of death or severe injuries! Before starting any maintenance work, disconnect the device from the power supply. Secure the device against unauthorized switching. WARNING Replacement of the fuse links must only be performed when the system is disconnected. Consult the relevant national regulations to determine the type and extent of inspections. Adapt inspection intervals to the operating conditions. During maintenance of the device, check at least: if the clamping screws holding the cables are securely seated, if the device enclosure and / or protective enclosure have cracks or other visible signs of damage, compliance with the permissible temperatures (according to 0079), if the nut is held securely in place A defect of the fuse link can be detected from the outside by means of the indicating pin. 8. Cleaning Clean the device only with a cloth, brush, vacuum cleaner or similar items. When cleaning with a damp cloth, use water or mild, non-abrasive, non-scratching cleaning agents. Do not use aggressive detergents or solvents. 8.3 Maintenance Observe the relevant national regulations in the country of use. 8.
