Car accident assistance What information does this summary provide? Our features and benefits document gives you a summary of the cover we provide under our car policy. It outlines the main features and benefits of your cover as well as specific limits and restrictions. It does not replace the policy document which outlines the terms and conditions of cover. On placing cover with us, we recommend you read the policy document together with your schedule and certificate of insurance to make sure that the cover suits your needs. The extent of protection provided depends on the level of cover you purchase. The cover options plus the additional features and benefits available are summarised in this document. What cover options do we provide? Third party, fire and theft cover This provides cover for your legal liabilities should a claim be brought against you for damage or injury to someone else or their property arising from the use of the insured car. It also covers you for loss or damage to your own car due to fire, theft or damage from an attempted theft. Comprehensive This is the most extensive cover available for private car owners. In addition to third party, fire and theft, comprehensive includes cover for accidental damage to your car. Additional features and benefits Our Clan Car Essentials and Clan Car covers give you a range of additional features and benefits to choose from. With Essentials you can choose from a number of additional features and benefits often provided as standard with other insurers. This ensures you only pay for the features and benefits you really want. And with our cover we include some of these features and benefits as standard. ii 1

Who can be insured to drive? There are various options available under our car insurance policy to extend cover to include additional drivers. You can choose to insure: your driving only you plus one named driver you plus up to three named drivers open drive this allows any driver between the ages of 30 and 70 years with a full clean driving licence to drive your car with your consent. It is generally possible to include drivers with provisional licences or outside the normal 30 to 70 age group. This is at our discretion and normally incurs an additional payment. Your Certificate of Insurance will set out the drivers covered to drive under your policy and you should read this document carefully. We will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage caused while your car is driven by a person not covered by your Certificate of Insurance. For what purposes is the car insured to be used? We provide cover for social, domestic and pleasure use. In general, it is possible to extend cover to business or work use. This is at our discretion and normally incurs an additional payment. Use outside of this is not covered. What other important items do I need to be aware of? General policy exceptions There are general exceptions which apply to your whole policy. These exclude cover for: all liability, loss or damage arising from additional liabilities accepted under contract; drivers or uses not insured under your policy; and earthquake, riot or civil commotion, radioactive contamination, war, terrorism, cyber risk, sonic bangs and airside liability. Policy excess You have to pay the first part of any claim for accidental damage to your car. The amount you pay is called an excess and will be noted on your schedule. Essentials Standard accidental damage excess 250 or 500* 500 or 250** Drivers under 25 or who hold a provisional licence 400 or 650* or learners permit 650 or 400** Voluntary option to increase or reduce your excess Basis of claims settlement *Increase your excess and pay less **Pay a little more and reduce your excess At our discretion we may choose to make a payment, repair (through a nominated repairer), replace or reinstate losses when dealing with a valid claim. Car damaged beyond repair We will pay the lower of either the market value of the car immediately prior to the loss or damage or the estimated value noted on the schedule. We will deduct any residual salvage value from the amount we pay. The only exception to this is where new car replacement cover applies. Territorial limits Your policy covers you while your car is used in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. We will also provide this cover throughout the EU and its designated territories for up to 60 days from the date of leaving Ireland. Once this period has ended, cover will be reduced to the minimum needed by law to use the car in the country you are travelling in. General policy conditions A number of conditions apply to your policy which are outlined in the policy document. These include the requirement to take all reasonable steps to safeguard you, your car and all other people from loss or damage and the condition to notify us promptly of any claims or incidents that may give rise to claims. No claim discount Claims for fire, theft, windscreen or for any covers provided from our Additional features and benefits options will not affect your no claim discount (NCD). Making any other type of claim means you will lose your NCD unless you have either Step-back no claim discount protection or No claim discount protector extra cover. The terms of the specific NCD protection you have on your policy will apply to your claim. Other discounts You may be entitled to discounts for having a second car, low mileage or penalty points free driving. You should speak to your broker to see what discounts you may be entitled to. 2 3

Standard policy features, benefits and restrictions Depending on the cover you select the following features, benefits and restrictions will form part of your policy. Covers your legal liability for damage to third party property arising from the use of your car. We will provide you with third party insurance cover to drive another private car not belonging to you (always check your Certificate of Insurance to see if this cover applies to you). We will provide third party insurance cover for towing a trailer attached to your car. We will cover the cost of removal of your car to the nearest repairer following loss or damage and the cost of delivery of your car once the loss/damage is repaired. 24 hour advice is available following a claim. We will cover damage to your car as a result of fire, self ignition, lightning or explosion or by theft or attempted theft. We will cover accidental loss or damage to your car. We will cover the replacement cost of keys, locks and alarm of your car if they are stolen. We will cover the fire brigade charges following a claim involving your car. The amount we will pay under this item is unlimited. We will pay up to 30m inclusive of legal expenses. Cover applies to you only and you must be at least 25 years old and hold a full driving licence. Occupational restrictions may also apply. This extension applies only to private passenger cars. It does not apply to vans, car-vans, jeeps with no seats in the back or vans adapted to carry passengers. We will not pay for damage to the trailer or goods carried on/in the trailer. We will only pay the reasonable costs of removal and delivery. Once repaired we will only deliver your car to your address in Ireland. The following number must be used to avail of this service - 1850 323 121. We will not cover deliberate acts by you. We will not cover depreciation, wear, tear, mechanical or electrical breakdown or failures, damage to tyres by the application of brakes or punctures. The limit in respect of this cover is 1,000 any one incident. Keys must be stolen from your private residence or hotel room following forcible entry for cover to apply. - - We will pay up to 2,000 under this item. 4 5

Additional policy features, benefits and restrictions The following additional features and benefits may apply to your policy as standard or as optional extra covers you can buy. This depends on whether you have chosen Clan Car Essentials or Clan Car and if your policy cover is comprehensive or third party, fire and theft. If the specific feature or benefit applies to your policy it will be noted on your schedule. Full details of the cover provided for each of these features is outlined in our car insurance policy document. Clan Car Clan Car Essentials Feature Cover Restrictions/Provisions Comprehensive Third party, fire and theft Comprehensive Third party, fire and theft New car replacement Windscreen Courtesy car If your car is less than one year old and is more than 60% damaged following a fire, theft or accidental damage claim, we will replace it with a new car. We will cover accidental damage to windscreens and windows on your car. We will cover the cost of a courtesy car after a claim. Your car must be within 12 months of registration as new in your name and have an odometer reading of less than 48,280 km at the time of the accident. Monetary limits apply when our approved windscreen supplier is not used. For details of your local repairer please ring 1890 953 953. A courtesy car up to 1.4 litre engine size will be provided for up to 10 days in a row arising from any one claim. - - - - Personal property We will cover loss of personal property in your car up to a limit of 550 for any one incident. No cover is provided for cash, credit cards, business goods or such items. Personal accident Medical expenses We will cover you in respect of death or specified injuries suffered as a result of an accident involving your car or while getting into or out of, or travelling in any private car not owned by you. We will cover medical expenses for any insured driver or passenger as a result of injury sustained in connection with your car. The amount payable is limited to 5,000 in respect of death and 2,500 in respect of loss of sight or loss of limbs (specified in the policy document). The maximum amount payable is 1,000 in respect of each person injured. - - Car breakdown assistance cover Driver accident cover We provide roadside and doorstep breakdown assistance including provisions to tow your car to the nearest competent repairer and get you home if the car cannot be repaired. We provide cover for death or specified injuries and medical expenses for you or any insured driver following an accident in your car. The following number must be used to avail of this service 1800 812 370. (Northern Ireland & UK: 00 353 91 545 975). Limits apply in respect of costs incurred in getting you home. Death 20,000 Total and permanent loss of sight in one or both eyes 10,000 Loss of one or more limbs 10,000 Hospital expenses incurred after an accident for a claim under the policy 350 a week. Medical and physiotherapy 1,000 expenses. The cover excludes injury arising from suicide or attempted suicide, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or injuries resulting from motor accidents not reported to an Garda. 6 7 Table continues overleaf > > >

Additional policy features, benefits and restrictions - continued Clan Car Clan Car Essentials Feature Cover Restrictions/Provisions Comprehensive Third party, fire and theft Comprehensive Third party, fire and theft No claim discount protector extra Step-back no claim discount protection You can make a single claim during two consecutive complete periods of insurance (24 months) with no impact to your no claim discount. If you have a second claim in this period your no claim discount will be reduced to 40%. If you have a third claim in this period you will lose your entire no claim discount. You can make a single claim and your no claim discount will be reduced instead of being lost in full. If you have more than one claim in the same period of insurance you will lose your entire no claim discount. To qualify you must have at least five years no claim discount. To qualify you must have at least three years no claim discount. Important notice Duty of disclosure You have a duty to disclose to us all material facts. A material fact is any information likely to influence our acceptance of your insurance, our calculation of your premium or the terms and conditions we apply to your policy. If you fail to disclose all material facts we may treat your policy as not having existed or cancel it. Consequences of Non Disclosure If we treat your policy as not having existed or cancel it you may experience problems including: the non payment of claims; difficulties in buying insurance elsewhere; failure to carry out a duty under a contract with a lender. If you are in any doubt as to whether or not any information is important, please disclose it to us. All covers are subject to the terms, conditions, exceptions and excesses set out in detail in your policy documentation. Always check your policy documentation (certificate of insurance, schedule, policy document, quotation letter, proposal form or statement of fact) to see what cover applies to your policy or quotation. 8 9
