FORTH VALLEY ROYAL HOSPITAL EMERGENCY TROLLEY EQUIPMENT Heartstart FR2 (+) Laerdal Suction Unit MAY 2013 STEVEN MORRISON RESUSCITATION OFFICER 1

INTRODUCTION All emergency trolleys should hold the same basic equipment and the addition of supplementary equipment should be avoided. It is important that all trolleys contain the equipment listed below to maintain standardisation. All staff working in your area, including nurses, doctors and bank staff should be familiar with the location and contents of the trolley, including how to restock it after use. They should also know how to summon the 2222 team. The contents of the Emergency Trolley should be checked DAILY by a trained member of staff to ensure everything is in place, in date, and in working order. A record of the daily checks should be kept for audit purposes. If faulty equipment is identified or restocking required, all staff responsible for checking the trolley should be aware of where they can obtain replacement equipment ASAP, to ensure the trolley is always ready to deal with emergencies and cardiac arrests. Random periodic audits of trolley contents and documentation will be carried out by the Resuscitation Department. 2
