1 a Domestic market shares in admissions 2005-2009 Admission market shares of domestic films in the Netherlands (including co productions) in 2009 dropped slightly to 17,4 after the significant increase to 17,9 in 2008. US films regained their 2007 position of 65. That is even higher than the percentage of France (fell back to 31) which shares were unchallenged on top of this ranking for many years. Noteworthy as well are the dropping percentages of England and Denmark to 17. For both countries this means almost a decrease of 50. Our domestic shares tend to be the lowest for many years, but this seems to be shifting slowly. Film Fund Budget & Activities 2009 The Netherlands Film Fund offers support for different stages of film production and for various types of film. In 2009, 578 out of 1338 projects were allocated with a total budget of 38,113,701 euros. Of all submitted plans 40 of feature production and 50 of documentary production is granted by 2the Film Fund. On average Film Fund participation was 41 of production cost. Average production costs was about 1.819.000 euros and the average contribution of the Film Fund was 320.546 euros. All features mentioned reached an average audience of 121.431 in 2009. This is the lowest average in years, despite the box-office hit of A woman goes to the doctor / Komt een vrouw bij de dokter. In 2008 it was the other way around. In 2009 the majors increased to an admission market share of 63.4, compared to a share of 60.5 in 2008.
