Ternary Composition (2 weeks) To understand the importance of structural devices To compose and evaluate a ternary piece in a small ensemble Evaluate composition Books, demonstration instrument, Student s instruments, tuned percussion.

To compare different versions of the same tune (Lloyd-Webber Variations). Evaluate the means by which tunes can be varied.
