Destiny Church Doctrinal Beliefs _GOD WE BELIEVE God is an all loving [1], good [2], infinite [3] unchangeable [4], holy [5], wise [6], perfect [7], eternal [8] Spirit [9]. He has no beginning and has no end. [10] He exists as the One [11] Living [12] and True [13] God in three persons [14], the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit [15] equal in power, nature [16] and glory. [17] WE BELIEVE God is the creator and sustainer of the universe [18]. He created all things_good. [19] God's Kingdom is everlasting. [20] From His throne, [21] through His eternal Word, [22] God created, [23] upholds, [24] and governs [25] all that exists. [26] God rules over the heavenly places [27], the angelic host [28], the universe [29], the earth, and every living thing. [30] GOD THE FATHER WE BELIEVE God the Father is the true essence of Fatherhood. [31] He guides, directs [32]_instructs [33], admonishes, and disciplines [34] His children. He is enduring [35] in His love [36] and mercy [37], yet is holy [38] and righteous in His judgments [39]. His name is holy [40] and His kingdom will come upon the earth. [41] He gives to His children their daily needs [42] as well as forgives them of their sins. [43] He does not lead anyone into temptation [44] but delivers all who call upon Him from evil. [45] GOD THE SON WE BELIEVE Jesus came to earth to usher in the Kingdom of God [46] and to fulfill the_prophetic promises of salvation [47] for the world. [48] Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, [49] as fully God and fully man in one person, [50] Jesus is humanity as God intended it to be.

[51] Jesus was anointed as God's Messiah and empowered by the Holy Spirit, [52] inaugurating God's Kingdom reign on earth. [53] Jesus overpowered the reign of Satan by resisting temptation, [54] preaching the good news of salvation, [55] healing the sick, [56] casting out demons, [57] and raising the dead. [58]_WE BELIEVE Jesus died for the sins of the world, [59] was buried, and was raised on the third day, [60] thus fulfilling the covenant of blessing five to Abraham. [61] In His sinless perfect life [62] Jesus met the demands of the law [63] and in His atoning death on the cross [64]_He took God's judgement for sin. [65] The power of sin has been broken [66] along with the disarming of the demonic powers. [67] Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. [68]_WE BELIEVE in the glorious resurrection of Jesus from the dead, [69] in His ascent into heaven and His present rule at the right hand of the Father. [70] As God's Son, Jesus is the eternal Messiah-King, [71] advancing God's reign throughout every generation and throughout the earth today. [72] GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit was poured out on the church at Pentecost in power, [73]_baptizing believers into the Body of Christ [74] and releasing the gifts of the Spirit. [75] The Spirit brings the permanent presence of God to the believer [76] for spiritual worship, [77] personal sanctification, [78] edification of the local church, [79] gifting for ministry, [80] service, [81] and for the defeating of the devil. [82] The goal of Spirit-Filled living is to further the Kingdom of God through preaching, [83] evangelism, [84] healing, [85] deliverance, [86] and Christian service. [87] Believers are to walk, talk, and act like Jesus. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in action._we BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ Jesus [88] and that He is our abiding Helper, [89] Teacher, [90] and Guide. [91] We

believe in the empowering or filling of the Holy Spirit. [92] We believe in the present ministry [93] of the Holy Spirit [94] and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Spirit. [95] We practice the laying on of hands for healing, [96] through the empowering of the Spirit. [97] We also practice the laying on of hands for recognition and empowering through prophecy or those whom God has ordained to lead and serve the church. [98] MAN WE BELIEVE that God created mankind in His image, male and female, [99] for relationship with Himself and to govern the earth. [100] The image of God in man is his unique ability to have relationship with the Living God. [101] Mankind was created good and without sin. Under the temptation of Satan, [102] our original parents fell from grace, [103] bringing sin, [104] sickness, [105] and God's judgement of death to the earth. [106]_WE BELIEVE that Satan, originally a great, good angel, rebelled against God, taking a host of angels with him. [107] He was cast out of God's presence and, as a usurper of God's rule established a counter-kingdom of darkness [108] and evil on earth. [109] Through the fall of man, Satan and his demonic host gained access to God's good creation. [110] Creation now experiences the consequences and effects of Adam's original sin. [111] Human beings are born in sin, [112] subject to God's righteous judgement of death [113] and captive to Satan's kingdom of darkness. [114]_WE BELIEVE mankind's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. [115] On the cross Jesus became sin and the righteous judgement of God fell on Him. [116] By His death mankind can be saved and restored to health and wholeness. [117] This salvation comes by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. [118]_WE BELIEVE that

the inward evidence to the believer of their salvation is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. [119] The outward evidence to the world is a life of true holiness [120] and love. [121] We believe that the whole world is under the domination of Satan [122] and all people are sinners by nature [123] and choice. [124] All people therefore are under God's just judgement. [125] Through the preaching of the good news of Jesus, [126] God regenerates [127], justifies, [128] adopts, [129] and sanctifies [130] all who repent of their sins [131] and trust in Jesus as Lord [132] and Savior. [133] By this they are released from Satan's domain and enter into God's kingdom reign. [134] CHURCH WE BELIEVE in one, [135] holy, [136] universal Church. [137] All who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit [138] and form the living Body of Christ, [139] of which He is the head [140] and of which we are all members. [141] We believe that Jesus committed two sacraments to the Church: water baptism [142] and the Lord's Supper. [143] Both are available to all believers. Footwashing and Marriage is also practiced as sacraments in the church._we BELIEVE that God's Kingdom has come in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, [144]_that it continues to come in the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Church. [145] It will be consummated in the glorious, visible and triumphant appearing of Christ's [146] return to_earth as King. [147] After Christ returns to reign, [148] He will bring about the final defeat of Satan and all his minions and works. [149] The resurrection of the dead, [150] the final judgement [151] and eternal blessing of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked [152] will take place at the return of Christ. Finally, God will be all in all [153] and His Kingdom, His rule and reign, [154] will be fulfilled in the new heavens and new

earth, [155] recreated by His mighty power, in which righteousness dwells [156] and in which He will forever be worshipped. [157] SCRIPTURES WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of the Holy Scripture [158] that the Bible is without error [159] in the original manuscripts. We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments [160] as our final, absolute authority, the only infallible rule of faith [161] and practice. [162] WOMEN IN MINISTRY WE BELIEVE that God created women to have a voice into the local church just as women have a voice into a marriage and family._we BELIEVE that wives are to be submitted to their husbands. The local church should not be a place where women can publically undermine or usurp the authority placed on their husbands by the Lord.[163]_WE BELIEVE that the New Testament gives clear examples of women functioning in ministry and church leadership roles. Of the 40 individuals that Paul lists throughout his epistles as significant and influential in his ministry, 16 of them were women. [164]_WE BELIEVE that men and women are one in Christ. Using scripture to show bias against gender implicates that bias can also be shown against age and ethnicity.[165] [1] 1 John 4:8_ [2] Exodus 33:19, Psalm 31:19_ [3] Psalm 147:5, Job 11:7-9_ [4] James 1:17_ [5] Isaiah 6:3, 1 Peter 1:15,16_ [6] Psalm 104:24, Proverbs 2:6, Isaiah 28:29_ [7] Matthew 5:48_
