1 Fall 2015 Preschool Master Plan Fall Year 1 God Created All Things 1 God Created Everything God created the heavens and the earth when there was nothing. God called all things into being with the power of his word. (Genesis 1) Know that God created all things and praise him for what he has made. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 2 God Created Day and Night God created light and divided it from the darkness, and made day and night. He made the sun, moon and stars to give order to our days. (Genesis 1) Thank God for creating day and night, and the sun, moon and stars. Genesis 1:1 3 God Created Creatures for Water and Sky By his commands, God created and prepared water and sky. God made the first living creatures. God saw it was good. (Genesis 1) Praise God for making water and sky. Praise him for making all kinds of fish to swim in water and birds to fly in the sky. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31a 4 God Created the Earth, Plants and Land Animals By his word, God made the land appear. He created vegetation and animal life, designed to flourish according to God s sovereign plan. (Genesis 1) Learn that everything God made is good and that all his works praise him. Genesis 1:31a UNIT 1 The Creation and God s Covenant of Life 5 God Created Man and Woman 6 Tending and Keeping God s World 7 God Set Apart the Seventh Day 8 God s Covenant of Life God created man and woman in his image to enjoy fellowship with him. (Genesis 1 2) God charged Adam and Eve with the task of tending and keeping the land and creatures, giving them opportunity to glorify him through work. (Genesis 1 2) Having completed his creation on the sixth day, God rested on the seventh day, establishing a model for his people to rest from their work on the Sabbath. (Genesis 2; Exodus 20) After creation, God made a sacred covenant with man: God promised life to Adam on the condition that he obey God perfectly, and he threatened to punish Adam with death if he disobeyed God. (Genesis 2) Know that we are created in God s image. Jesus gives his children faith and power to trust and obey him. Begin to learn to what it means to tend and keep God s world wisely. Thank God for the Christian Sabbath as a day set apart for worship, rest and doing good to others. God s covenant children glorify him when they trust and obey him. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his. Psalm 100:3a Psalm 100:3a Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Exodus 20:8 [Jesus said,] You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:14 9 Sin Spoiled God s Perfect World Adam and Eve disobeyed God and became sinners. Because of their sin, trouble, pain and death entered God s wonderful world. (Genesis 3) To understand that because Adam and Eve sinned, we are all sinners. All wrongdoing is sin. 1 John 5:17a UNIT 2 The Fall and God s Covenant of Grace 10 God Reached Out in Love 11 God Sent the Savior 12 God s Plan for His New Creation 13 God Our Creator Is Faithful Although Adam and Eve sinned against God, he did not stop loving them. Even while declaring his judgment against sin, God revealed a merciful plan to reconcile sinners to himself. (Genesis 3) God s promise of a Savior who would suffer and die in the place of sinners was fulfilled in Jesus. (Genesis 3; Romans 5; 1 John 3) God will one day restore his people and his creation to himself, with Jesus ruling as king. (Isaiah 65; 2 Corinthians 5; Revelation 21) The Lord our Creator is faithful to his covenant people, and because of his grace and mercy, we respond in loving service. (Psalm 100) God promised to send a Savior who would pay for Adam and Eve s sin, and our sin. Jesus came to earth and died on the cross to pay for our sins. Know that one day God will give his people a wonderful home in the new heavens and the new earth. Praise God for his creation, salvation and faithful care. Exodus 20:8 John 15:14 1 John 5:17a While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8b Romans 5:8b We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 2 Winter 2015 Preschool Master Plan Winter Year 1 Jesus Is God s Son 1 God Sends John Through God s angel, Zechariah learned that he and Elizabeth would have a son. John was born to get God s people ready for the Savior. (Luke 1) Learn that God sent John to get God s people ready for the promised Savior. Praise be to the Lord. Luke 1:68a UNIT 1 The Birth of Jesus 2 Mary Hears and Believes the Good News 3 Jesus Is Born The angel announced to Mary that the baby she would bear would be Jesus, God s own Son, the promised Savior. Mary believed and praised God. (Luke 1) God s Son, Jesus, was born in Bethlehem as a baby who would grow up to save God s people from their sins. (Luke 2) Praise God for sending his Son as a baby. Thank God for sending the Savior he promised. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. John 20:31b Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 4 Simeon Sees the Savior Just as God promised, Simeon lived to see the infant Christ, who was sent to be the Savior of his people. (Luke 2) Learn that God always keeps his promises. Luke 1:68a John 20:31b Luke 2:11 5 Wise Men Worship Jesus God led the wise men to Bethlehem to worship Jesus, the Savior and King. God s power kept Jesus safe to grow up and do the work God planned for him. (Matthew 2) God guides and protects his servants. Luke 1:68a John 20:31b Luke 2:11 6 Jesus Visits the Temple Even at 12 years of age, Jesus knew he was God s Son. He was obedient to God, preparing for the work God had sent him to do, and he was obedient to Mary and Joseph. (Luke 2) Learn that even as a child, Jesus always obeyed his heavenly Father. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2:52 UNIT 2 Jesus Is God s Son 7 John Baptizes Jesus 8 Jesus Is Tempted by Satan John baptized Jesus, and God said Jesus is his Son. (Matthew 3; John 1) Satan tempted Jesus to disobey God. Jesus quoted God s Word to say no to Satan. (Luke 4) Jesus is our Savior from sin. Learn that Jesus obeyed God perfectly and served only him. And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love. Matthew 3:17a Worship the Lord your God and serve him only. Luke 4:8b 9 Jesus Visits Nazareth In his hometown, Jesus announced who he really was, and because of their unbelief, the people tried to kill him. (Luke 4) Learn that salvation comes only to those who believe in God s Son, the Savior. Luke 2:52 Matthew 3:17a Luke 4:8b UNIT 3 God s Son Is the Promised Savior 10 Jesus Calls and Makes Fishers of Men 11 Jesus Sends Out the Twelve 12 Peter Says Jesus Is the Christ 13 Jesus Reveals His Glory Jesus, as God s Son, showed his power over nature to Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John, and promised to make them fishers of men. (Luke 5) Jesus chose 12 disciples and equipped them with everything they needed to go out and serve him. (Matthew 10; Luke 9) The heavenly Father led Peter to confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Matthew 16) Jesus showed his glory to Peter, James and John, and God announced who Jesus is. (Matthew 17; Mark 9; Luke 9) Learn to follow Jesus by trusting and serving him. God gives his children everything they need to serve him. Only God can show his children who Jesus is. Jesus is God s own beloved Son, whom we must trust and obey. Jesus called them, and immediately they... followed him. Matthew 4:21b 22 And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God. Luke 9:2a You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 3 Spring 2016 Preschool Master Plan Spring Year 1 Jesus Is the Savior UNIT 1 Jesus Is the Loving Savior 1 Jesus Heals Ten Lepers 2 Jesus Blesses Little Children 3 Jesus Comes to Zacchaeus s House Jesus healed 10 men of leprosy, but only one returned to Jesus, praising God for what had happened. (Luke 17) Jesus welcomed the children and blessed them. (Matthew 19; Mark 10; Luke 18) Jesus reached out to Zacchaeus and saved him, and Zacchaeus showed that his heart was changed. (Luke 19) Learn to trust in Jesus and thank him for his goodness to us. Learn that we are helpless and must depend on Jesus. Know that Jesus changes sinners hearts and forgives them. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. Psalm 136:1a [Jesus said,] Let the little children come to me. Luke 18:16b Luke 18:16b 4 Jesus Enters Jerusalem Jesus is God s King, sent to deliver his people from sin and death. (Luke 19) Know that Jesus is our King. Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Luke 19:38a 5 Jesus Cleanses the Temple Jesus claimed authority in the temple, restoring it to its proper use. (Luke 19; Mark 11) Recognize Jesus power over our hearts and lives. Luke 19:38a UNIT 2 Jesus Is the Savior-King 6 Jesus Establishes the Lord s Supper 7 Jesus Is Arrested 8 Jesus Dies on the Cross Jesus gave his followers the Lord s Supper as an act of worship to remember his death and celebrate the new covenant God made with his people. (Luke 22) Jesus gave himself up to his enemies so that he might obey the will of his Father to save his people. (Luke 22) Jesus died on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven. (Luke 23) The Lord s Supper is a reminder that Jesus has paid for all our sin and God has forgiven us. Jesus chose to obey the will of his Father so that we could be forgiven. Know that Jesus is our Savior. [Jesus said,] Do this in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19b Psalm 136:1a Luke 19:38a Luke 18:16b Luke 22:19b While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8b 9 Jesus Is Alive Jesus came alive again on the third day, just as he promised he would. (Luke 24) Praise Jesus, our risen Savior! [Jesus said,] I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! Revelation 1:18a 10 Jesus Appears to Two Men The risen Lord appeared to two of his followers, and they went off and told the others the good news. (Luke 24) Know that the risen Savior is always with us and share the good news with others. Romans 5:8b Revelation 1:18a UNIT 3 Jesus Is the Risen Lord 11 Jesus Appears to His Disciples 12 Jesus Returns to Heaven 13 Jesus Will Come Again Jesus appeared to his disciples, showing them that he had risen from the dead. Jesus said those who would believe in him without ever seeing him would be blessed. (Luke 24; John 20) Jesus returned to his Father in heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to be with his people. (John 16; Luke 24; Acts 1) Jesus told his church to make disciples of all nations until he returns to earth in power and glory. We must tell others about the Savior as we look forward to his return. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. But God, who promised Adam and Eve a Savior, sent Seth, through whose family the Savior would come. (Genesis 3; 4; Hebrews 11) God saved Noah and his family from the flood, and Noah responded to God s covenant grace with faith, obedience and worship. (Genesis 6 9) Abraham responded to the call of God by trusting God s promise. (Genesis 12; 15; 17; Hebrews 11) God kept his promise to Abraham and Sarah by giving them a son in their old age, and they responded in faith and submission to God s plan. (Genesis 18; 21) Abraham faithfully trusted God to provide, and he set out in faith to obey God s command to sacrifice his son. God provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac. (Genesis 22) God showed Jacob in a dream that he would keep him and be with him always. (Genesis 28) God saved Joseph s life and was with him all the time and in every place. (Genesis 37; 39 41) God kept Jacob s family alive and God continued his plan to make his people into a great nation, as he had promised to do. (Genesis 42 50) When God called, Samuel listened and obeyed. (1 Samuel 1 3) God, who gave David a heart of faith, chose him to be the next king of Israel. (1 Samuel 8; 16) God was with David, giving him all he needed to deliver God s people from their enemy. (1 Samuel 17) God promised that the Savior would be born into David s family, and David responded to God s grace in humble thankfulness. (2 Samuel 7) God kept his promise to Adam and Eve and others by sending Jesus, the Savior, to redeem his people. (Matthew 1; Luke 1; 2) Permission granted to photocopy this page for parents. Learn that God promised to send a Savior. Learn to trust and obey God because he faithfully cares for his children. The Lord gives us faith to follow him. Praise God that nothing is too hard for him to do. God, who provides all we need, wants us to learn to trust, obey and follow him even when it is very hard to do so. God promises to keep us and be with us always. God saves his people and is with them all the time and in every place. God saves his children and rules over their lives for their good. To grow in trust and obedience, as Samuel did. With God s strength and presence, we are able to do what God calls us to do. We can trust God to help us in times of trouble. Learn to accept God s promises in faith, and thank him for loving us. Just as he promised in his Word, God sent Jesus to save us from our sins. The Lord is faithful to all his promises. 5 Fall 2016 Preschool Master Plan Fall Year 2 God Leads His People UNIT 1 God Prepares His People 1 God Takes Care of Moses 2 God Calls Moses 3 God Sends Moses God took care of baby Moses because God had a special job for him to do later. (Exodus 1 2) God called Moses and prepared him to bring God s people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. (Exodus 3 4) Even though cruel Pharaoh said he would not let Israel go, God promised to use his mighty power to free his people. (Exodus 4 6) God takes care of us. God calls us and makes us ready to serve him. God is with us all the time and has promised to save and help us. The Lord... cares for those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7 Nahum 1:7 This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. Exodus 8:1b UNIT 2 God Protects His People 4 God Shows His Power 5 God Saves His People 6 God Leads His People Through the plagues, God showed his power to the Egyptians and the Israelites, but to his people he also showed his love. (Exodus 7 10) God s people were saved from death by putting lamb s blood on their doorframes. (Exodus 11 12) God saved the Israelites at the Red Sea, and they praised God for who he is and what he did for them. (Exodus 13 15) We can trust our powerful God. God sent Jesus, the Lamb of God, to save us from our sins. We praise God for saving, protecting and leading his people. Exodus 8:1b Nahum 1:7 and Exodus 8:1b Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. God still provides for his children s needs. (Exodus 16) Just as God provided water for the Israelites long ago, he kindly supplies our needs today. (Exodus 19 20, 24) Although God s people broke their promise to obey him, God did not break his promise to be their God. (Exodus 32 34) God punished his unbelieving people, but he kept his promise to be faithful to them. (Numbers 13 14) Just as God kept his promise to lead his people into Canaan, God kept his promise to send Jesus as our Savior. 6 Winter 2016 Preschool Master Plan Winter Year 2 Living in God s Family 1 God Sends His Son, Jesus God sent his Son, Jesus, to die for all our sins so we could be part of God s family. (Luke 2) To praise God for sending Jesus to be our Savior. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John 3:1a UNIT 1 Welcome to God s Family 2 Jesus Explains Salvation 3 Jesus Cares for His People 4 Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit God draws people to himself, giving them faith to trust in his Son, Jesus, for forgiveness of sins. (John 3; Genesis 3; Matthew 19) Jesus cares for God s people, and they follow him in love and obedience. (John 10) The Holy Spirit helps God s children remember and obey the words of Jesus. (John 14) God loves us and saves us from our sins. Follow Jesus, and thank him for his loving care. God wants his children to depend on the Holy Spirit. 1 John 3:1a. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son. 1 John 4:10a The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace. Galatians 5:22a 5 Jesus Says, Pray Like This Through prayer, God s children may praise him, ask for forgiveness, and ask for the things they need. (Matthew 6; Luke 11) God wants his children to pray to him. Come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:12b 6 Jesus Says, Love God Best God s children are to love him above all else. (Mark 10; Luke 21) God wants us to love him more than any of his gifts to us. Love the Lord your God with all your heart. Matthew 22:37a 7 Jesus Says, Love One Another God s children show their love for him by loving others. (1 John 3 4; John 13) Jesus tells us to show love for God by loving others. (Matthew 5) God wants his children to continually turn away from sin and seek forgiveness through Jesus the Savior. (Luke 11, 15) Jesus taught his disciples to forgive others, just as God has forgiven them. (Matthew 5, 6, 18) Love those who don t love God and don t love you. When we confess our sins, we can trust God to forgive us. 7 Spring 2017 Preschool Master Plan Spring Year 2 Jesus Is God UNIT 1 God s Son Shows His Power over Creation 1 Jesus Changes Water to Wine 2 Jesus Calms the Storm 3 Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand 4 Jesus Heals a Man at the Pool When Jesus showed his glory by changing water to wine, the disciples put their faith in him. (John 2) By calming the storm, Jesus showed that he is Lord over creation and that he is the Son of God. (Mark 4; see also Matt. 8 and Luke 8) Jesus cared for the crowd s spiritual and physical hunger by teaching them God s Word and miraculously feeding them all. (Mark 6; see also Matt. 14, Luke 9 and John 6) God the Son heals a lame man and tells him to stop sinning. (John 5) We will put our trust in Jesus, our powerful Savior. Jesus teaches us to trust him to take care of us all the time. Jesus, our loving Savior, provides for all our needs. Only God can make sick people well. Jesus... revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. John 2:11 John 2:11 Jesus... went around doing good. Acts 10:38 Acts 10:38 5 Jesus Forgives and Restores Jesus clearly showed the power of God when he forgave the paralyzed man and healed him. (Luke 5; see also Matt. 9 and Mark 2) Jesus can forgive sin and heal sickness because he is God himself. [Jesus said] Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. John 14:9b UNIT 2 God s Son Shows His Power over Sickness 6 Jesus Makes a Sick Servant Well 7 Jesus Gives Sight 8 Jesus Sets a Woman Free 9 Jesus Cures Ten Lepers Jesus honors the great faith of a centurion by healing his servant. (Luke 7; see also Matt. 8) Jesus showed compassion by healing a blind beggar who cried out to him in faith.(mark 10; see also Matt. 20 and Luke 18) Jesus showed God s power over Satan, and the evil he caused, by healing the crippled woman. (Luke 13) Jesus cured ten men of leprosy, but only one took the trouble to thank Jesus and give praise to God. (Luke 17) Show faith that pleases God. Jesus wants his children to call on him in faith. Praise God for the wonderful things he does, and that he is more powerful than Satan. Give thanks to God for what he has done for us. John 14:9b [Jesus said] Return home and tell how much God has done for you. Luke 8:39a I will praise you, O Lord... I will tell of all your wonders. Psalm 9:1 Luke 8:39a and Psalm 9:1. UNIT 3 God s Son Shows His Power over Death 10 Jesus Raises the Widow s Son 11 Jesus Gives Life to Jairus Daughter 12 Jesus Brings Lazarus Back to Life 13 Jesus Is Alive Jesus showed his power over death by bringing the widow s son back to life. (Luke 7) Jesus showed his power as Lord of life by raising Jairus s dead daughter and restoring her to her family. (Mark 5; see also Matt. 9 and Luke 8) Jesus showed the glory and power of God when he brought Lazarus back to life. (John 11) Through his death and resurrection, Jesus showed that he is able to save his people from sin and death. (John 20; Matt. 28; Mark 16; Luke 24) Jesus has power over death. God has come to help us in Jesus. Just as he promised, Jesus gives his people life that lasts forever. Believe and tell that Jesus is our living Savior. [The people said] God has come to help his people. Luke 7:16b Luke 7:16b I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God. John 11:27 [The angel said]... John 21:19 UNIT 1 Following and Serving the Savior 2 The Coming of the Holy Spirit 3 Building God s Church 4 Serving the Lord with Courage God gives the Holy Spirit to his children to enable them to love and serve him. (Acts 1 2) By the power of the Holy Spirit, the disiciples served God and told others about Christ. (Acts 2 3) The Holy Spirit gave Peter and John power to serve God with courage. (Acts 4) Thank God for sending the Holy Spirit so that we can love and serve him. Depend on the Holy Spirit to give us power to do God s work and tell others about Christ. Learn to trust God to give us courage to serve him. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. John 21:19 and We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God. Joshua 24:18b 5 Serving in Different Ways Seven godly men were chosen to serve the widows in the church. (Acts 6) God gives us different ways to serve others. John 21:19 Joshua 24:18b 6 Being Taught in God s Word Timothy learned God s Word from his mother and grandmother. (Acts 16; 2 Timothy 1, 3) Learning God s Word prepares us to serve him and others. Serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13b UNIT 2 Serving One Another 7 Making Our Hearts Ready 8 Serving God by Helping Others 9 Trusting God in Prayer The Lord saved Lydia and her household, and she invited Paul and his coworkers to stay in her home. (Acts 16) Dorcas served God by helping others. (Acts 9) When Peter was put in prison, the church prayed constantly to God for him. (Acts 12) God opens our hearts to receive him and serve others. One way to serve God is by helping others. Pray often, praising our heavenly Father and trusting him for the things we need. James 5:16a 10 Telling Others and Giving When God s servants preached the gospel, many believed and gave to help others in need. (Acts 11) God wants his children to tell others about Jesus and give to help others. James 5:16a UNIT 3 Serving All Over the World 11 Sending God s Servants Out 12 Preaching the Good News 13 Faithfully Serving the Lord When the Holy Spirit told the church in Antioch to set apart Paul and Barnabas to preach the Word of God, they obeyed and sent them out. (Acts 13) After preaching to many people in many places, Paul and Barnabas returned home and told all that God had done. (Acts 13 14) Even while imprisoned, Paul and Silas were faithful witnesses and the jailer and his family were saved. (Acts 16, 40) The Holy Spirit gives us opportunities to spread the good news of Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives God s servants what they need to preach the good news. We can trust God to help us serve him faithfully, even when it is hard to do so. Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved you and your household.
