HIM OWNERS MANUAL Page 1

Congratulations on your investment in improving your health with the purchase of the H2FX HIM (Hydrogen Infusion Machine). GREAT TASTING HYDROGEN ENRICHED WATER Suggested intake: 2 to 3 liters per day for adults. Children may drink less. There are no adverse effects if consumption is higher. Suggested reading: We recommend you visit www.molecularhydrogenfoundation.org for a complete presentation of the benefits of molecular hydrogen. Please read this OWNER S MANUAL before installing and operating your H2FX HIM CAUTIONS: There are no parts in the HIM that you can repair. Do not remove the power supply on the back of your HIM or open the right hand side panel (looking at the machine from the back. The only screws you can touch are the silver thumb screws located on the left side of the back of the HIM when changing the filters. Do not expose your HIM to freezing temperatures (0 C, 32 Fahrenheit) or excess heat (40 C, 110 Fahrenheit) The HIM is to be used exclusively to produce hydrogen infused water Do not run hot water through your HIM Your HIM was designed to operate in a range of 30 psi to 90 psi. Your HIM has a pressure control valve inside to regulate the water pressure to 45 psi, but the regulator will not elevate low water pressure or limit extremely high water pressure. Your HIM is not designed to be connected to an unpressurized boiler or a pull-out sprayer. H2FX will not be held responsible for damages caused by faulty assembly or connections. Hire a professional for installations if you are not comfortable. Safety regulations vary by country. The safety regulations of each country where your HIM has been purchased supercede the requirements suggested in this manual If the user detects any unusual activity such as sparking, smoking, or unexpected noises when plugging in the HIM or during normal operations, immediately unplug the HIM and contact us. The manufacturer and distributor will not be held responsible for accidents or damages resulting from incorrect usage or non-observance of the safety rules procedures mentioned in this manual Page 2

CONTENTS 1 H2FX HIM (as seen when first removed from the box) 1 meter of 3mm tubing (in clear plastic bag...do not let children play with the bag) 1 power cable located in the cutout of the styrofoam packaging 1 diverter valve 3 adapters located in the white box located in the cutout of the styrofoam packaging Page 3

INSTALLATION Watch the video (http://goo.gl/udqbpl) or follow the steps below: Connecting the cold water line to your tap and your HIM 1. Unscrew the aerator cap at the bottom of your tap 2. Screw the diverter valve (found in the white box) onto your tap (You may need to use one of the adapters found in the white box) Unscrew the threaded cap on the side of the diverter valve 3. Thread the white (3mm) drinking line through the hole in the threaded cap. Press white hose firmly onto nipple before screwing the cap on. If the fit is snug, you might want to run the end of the white hose under hot water for 15 seconds to make the hose more pliable. 4. Screw the cap back onto the diverter securely 5. Place your HIM on the counter in a position that accomadates access to the water supply and an electrical outlet Run the white drinking line from the diverter on your tap to the back of your HIM to determine the length of the line Leave enough slack to move the tap back and forth (if it moves) and to move your HIM a bit. Cut the white drinking line to the desired length with a sharp knife (please be careful). Scissors can be used but are not recommended. Page 4

INSTALLATION CONTINUED 6. Connect the cut end of the white drinking line to the quick connect inlet valve on the back of your HIM 7. Make sure the connection is secure (when you push the white line into the connector, you will feel an initial gentle resistance which you must push through) CONNECTING THE POWER TO YOUR HIM 1. Remove the black power cord from the clear bag located in the white styrofoam packaging. Plug the female end of the chord into the power supply in the back of your HIM. 2. Plug the male end of the chord into the electrical outlet power in the wall. It is recommended to use a surge protector on appliances. 3. You will need to open the Water Flow Valve on the back of your HIM. Turn the black valve on the back of your HIM from the horizontal position to the vertical position to allow water to flow from your tap into the machine. Page 5

INITIAL USE 1. When you are using your HIM for the first time, check to make sure that water is not leaking from connectors or from the machine itself (if the machine is not dispensing water or is leaking, see the TROUBLESHOOTING section below. 2. When you first start using your HIM, you will notice that there are lots of bubbles in the water that is a good thing as that tells you that your HIM is creating hydrogen during electrolysis in the water cell. 3. First, you will need to run the machine for 5 to 10 minutes.you will need to dump out your glass or bottle.the break-in period gives the Hydrogen Diffusion Unit inside the water cell of your HIM to begin operating efficiently 4. Once your HIM has passed the break-in stage, you may still see a few bubbles in your water, but the goal is to infuse the hydrogen into the water.that means a lack of bubbles from now on is a good thing. OPERATING YOUR HIM 1. Turn on your tap Open the diverter valve on your tap (turn the silver lever from the horizontal position to the vertical position 2. Push a glass or bottle up against the lever on the front of you HIM and water will dispense from the machine for as long as you depress the lever 3. When your HIM is not in use, turn the water supply from your tap off to release water pressure on your HIM. This can be achieved by turning the tap off, or shifting the lever on the diverter to the horizontal position which will allow you to use your tap. Technically, you could also turn the white lever on the back of your HIM, but it is much less convenient. Your HIM will automatically shut off after 5 minutes to prevent potential flooding. Page 6

TROUBLESHOOTING If you are not getting any water out of the machine: 1. check to make sure that your HIM is plugged in and also confirm that the wall plug is operational by plugging another device into the wall plug to see if it is working 2. check to see if water is making its way from the tap through the diverter (the lever on your diverter may have been left in the horizontal off position). You can check this by disconnecting the white drinking line from the diverter and running water from the tap into the sink through the diverter. 3. once you have confirmed that you don t have a diverter problem, hook the white drinking line back up to the diverter and check to see if there are any kinks in the white water line that may impede water flow. If the line is kinked, straighten out the line and check to see if your HIM will dispense water. 4. next, check to see that the black lever on the back of your HIM is still in the vertical position. If the lever has shifted to the horizontal position, water will not be able to pass into your HIM 5. next, remove the access panel to your HIM (see CHANGING FILTERS for instructions on how to remove the panel). Check the connections inside your HIM to make sure that something is not disconnected 6. if you are still unable to get your HIM working, email us and a Qualified H2FX Technician will contact you. If the technician is unable to help you, you will be provided with instructions on how to ship your unit to us for repair. Page 7

CHANGING FILTERS Watch the video (http://goo.gl/pxdvvn) or follow the steps below: 1. Your filters should be changed every six to twelve months depending upon usage and source water conditions 2. If you have fluoride in your drinking water, it is recommended that you change filters every six months as the ability of the filters to remove fluoride will drop to approximately 50% removal rate after six months. 3. To change filters, shut the water off at the tap 4. Press a glass or bottle against the lever on your HIM to drain any water left in the filters out of the machine 5. Look at the back of your HIM. Identify the two silver thumb screws which hold the left hand side panel in place. 6. Use your fingers to unscrew the two screws (you might have to use a screwdriver if the screws are on a little tight for you. Place the screws in a safe place so that you don t lose them. 7. Once the screws have been removed, slide the side panel towards the back (½ inch) of the HIM to unlock the panel, and then remove. 8. You will see two filters. The filter on the left is a Carbon Block filter and has a blue label. The filter on the right is an Ultra Fine filter and has a green label. If the filter on right is a Fluoride filter, it will have an orange label. 9. The housing for the two filters will tilt towards you for ease of changing filters. 10. Remove the old filter on the right by turning it counter-clockwise ¼ turn and pull down gently to unseat the cartridge and set the filter aside for disposal. 11. Remove the old Carbon Block filter on the left by the same method 12. Install the new Carbon Block filter on the left by pushing the filter gently up into the fitting and turning clockwise ¼ turn. 13. Install the new Ultra Fine or Fluoride filter on the right by the same method 14. Tilt the housing for the two filters back into the original position. You will hear them click into place. 15. Replace the side panel and two thumb screws to their original positions 16. Turn the tap water back on and test your HIM to make sure everything is working properly 17. New filters should be flushed for 1 to 2 minutes before drinking, but you will need to run your HIM for 10 minutes before your water will be fully enriched with hydrogen. Page 8

MAINTENANCE Your HIM does not require regular maintenance. You may want to purchase H2Blue TM test drops from your dealer to test for the presence of hydrogen in the water produced by your HIM. Please note that unless you are an experienced technician, using the H2Blue TM test drops to determine the hydrogen output of your HIM may have mixed results due to user error.
