PLANETA contributions to the Strategic Implemention Plan Priority + Financing for innovation Water reuse and recycling To optimize EU existing R&D funding. Investements to cover EIP on water objectives. Financing instruments to boost EU water companies competitivness in export markets. Tax System (Patent Box). Include urban water reuse and recycling. Wastewater recycling for aquifer replenishment (to avoid saline intrusion and/or as natural water services). Fracking water treatment and recycling. Water and wastewater treatment Alternative water resources (underground water treatment and seawater desalination). Change micro-pollutants and pharmaceuticals per priority pollutants and emerging pollutans. Water and energy nexus The use of renovable energies for water treatment. Make a diference between less developed regions and more developed regions. Use of waste water in crops for producing energy. Risk management of extreme events Decisions support systems based on potential risk cuantification at a river basins level. Support to implementation of the PLANETA Platform Operational Networks Review of the SIP WG. Global Water Cycle WG. Promotion of the eco-innovation. WG. Air quality and climate change. WG. Waste, soil, sediment and other materials. WG. Sustainability assessment of environmental technologies.

Support to implementation of the ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-1 Water innovation demonstration projects FP7-ENV-2013- WATER-INNO-DEMO. This topic is mainly addressed to SMEs and industries, in appropriate partnership with research institutions and other stakeholders. Involvement of R&D performing SMEs is encouraged to ensure maximum impact. This topic contributes to the aims of the proposed European Innovation Partnership on 'Water'. ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-2 Ensuring the integration of water and innovation demonstration projects and support to trans-national networks of procurers. Subtopic A. Creation of a network to ensure an optimal coordination between the various sites of the demonstration projects selected in topic ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-1 and future Innovation Sites listed. This network should be built on existing successful technology platforms and partnerships, bring together both the public and private water sectors, and should liaise with the secretariat of the proposed European Innovation Partnership on 'Water. ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-2 Ensuring the integration of water and innovation demonstration projects and support to trans-national networks of procurers. Subtopic B. Promotion and development of innovation-oriented public procurements in the domain covered by the proposed European Innovation Partnership on 'Water. Public authorities (e.g. public purchasers such as national/regional/local governments and/or their agencies, public authorities responsible for R&I programmes such as research councils, R&I funding agencies) wishing to work together in developing innovative procurements (including pre-commercial) are encouraged to test innovative procurement policies.
