Data OVERKRETE E-100 S OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S 100% Solids, High Gloss Epoxy Floor CoatingTechnical PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The E-100 S are floor coating systems applied at a thickness of 16 to 50 mils. They are designed for long term protection of concrete in light to medium service areas. They protect against intermittent chemical spills, splashes and power washings and have excellent abrasion resistance against foot and rubber covered wheel traffic. These coatings provide a 30-50 mil anti-skid textured surface, or a 16 mil smooth finish. For added gloss and color retention use OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S. E-100 S Coatings are virtually 100% solids copolymer resin systems. The low viscosity and self leveling properties permit easy application followed by squeegee rolling with a short nap roller. They can also be rolled on to vertical surfaces using OVERKRETE E-100 V or OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 V. E-100 S Coatings are available in ten aesthetically pleasing colors. Special colors and surface texture are available upon request. CORROSION RESISTANCE E- 100 S Coatings are resistant to a wide range of chemicals. Due to the thinness of these coatings, they are not recommended for continuous or prolonged exposure to chemicals. For more detailed chemical resistance information, refer to the Product Recommendation Guide. TYPICAL USES E-100 S Coatings are used where one or more of the following properties are required: Splash & Spill corrosion resistance High wearability Anti-slip safety surfaces (when used in conjunction with broadcast aggregates) Elimination of concrete dusting Aesthetically pleasing surfaces Easy cleanup and maintenance Color stability with the Xtra E-100 Either product may be used directly over concrete, or as a topcoat for other Rust- Oleum toppings. E- 100 S may be used as a glaze coat over the Overkrete 1/4" topping. For use with FlorClad system, FlorClad HD must first be coated with OVERKRETE E-100 OP or OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 OP. The OVERKRETE E-100 S and OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S may then be applied over the E-100 OP. For improved color and gloss retention use the OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S. packaging, application, coverage, clean-up Industrial Lunchrooms and Dressing Rooms Waste Water Treatment Plants Fire Stations APPLICATION THICKNESS E-100 S coatings have a tenacious adhesion to concrete. They will not lift or crack under static or dynamic loads unless the underlying concrete fails. Concrete failure is evidenced by powdering, crazing, spalling or cracking. E- 100 S Coatings cushion the concrete from failing. This cushioning effect increases in proportion to the thickness of the coating applied. Light to medium duty service requires a 16 mil (smooth) or 45-50 mil (antiskid) coating. This is the range that these coatings are designed to handle most economically. For heavier duty service refer to OVERKRETE, OVERKOTE, and OVERKOTE PLUS Technical Bulletins. PACKAGING The E-100 S coatings are packaged in two kit sizes: Overkrete E-100 S Overkrete Xtra E-100 S 1 gallon 1 gallon 4 gallon 3 gallon Mixing ratios are listed on the product labels. Silica is not packaged with the standard units. SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION Concrete must be sound, clean, and visibly dry. Voids in the concrete should be filled. The surface should be sand blasted, shot blasted, or acid etched prior to application. Concrete, ambient, and material temperatures should be 65-90 F at time of application. Concrete must be visibly dry at time of application. OVERKRETE E-100 S & OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S do not require a primer or sealer. However, when applying a smooth 16 mil finish, a primer must be used to help ensure a smooth finish. Apply with a squeegee followed by a short nap roller. Refer to PRIME AND SEAL PRIMER technical bulletin. NOTE: Surface preparation and application procedures are described in more detail in the Application Instructions. These should be read before use. COVERAGE (coverage rates will vary depending on surface texture) 16 mils Smooth Finish - applied in two coats. 1st Coat 200-320 sq ft per gal (5-8 mils) 2nd Coat 135-200 sq ft per gal (8-12 mils) 45-50 mils Anti-skid Finish - applied in two coats. (three steps involved) 1st Coat 100 sq ft per gal (16 mils; no less) while wet 2nd Coat* Aggregate broadcast 100 sq ft per gal** * The 2nd coat anchors the aggregate. ** This will vary, based on coarseness of aggregate used. Equal coverage may be expected when used as a glaze coat over Overkrete topping. SET TIME Cured adequately for next coating step in 8-10 hours at 70 F. clean-up, safety CLEAN UP Xylene can be used to remove OVERKRETE E-100 S and OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S Coatings from equipment and tools before they begin to harden; otherwise strong solvents such as methylene chloride will be required. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for clean up materials to ensure safe use. SAFETY E- 100 S Coatings contain amine curing agents. Avoid skin contact. In case of eye contact or ingestion, contact a physician immediately. In case of skin sensitivity to these materials, use protective clothing and gloves. MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS See Material Safety Data Sheet and label warnings for safety information. It is strongly recommended that they be read by all persons handling OVERKRETE E-100 S and/or OVERKRETE XTRA E-100 S. If there are any questions on the use of this product, please consult our technical service department. Overkrete E-100 S, Overkrete Xtra E-100 S Bulletin Page 4
