General Information & Safety Instructions To get the best out of the battery, fully charge and use until flat for the first 5-6 times. Then use until flat and fully charge at least once a month. Prolonged storage without charge may cause damage to the battery and result in poor to no charge. It is recommended you fully charge the battery every 6 months for long term storage to keep the battery in good condition. This camera is powered by a 900mAh lithium battery. Do not dispose of batteries in your household waste. Please contact your local authority for details on safe disposal. Never throw batteries into a fire or expose to excessive heat sources. If batteries are swallowed, please seek immediate medical attention. Always ensure correct +/- battery polarity when installing batteries. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Equipment, which is marked with the WEEE logo (as shown on the left), should not be thrown away with your household waste. Contact your local authority waste disposal department, as they will be able to provide details of the recycling options available in your area. Set Up Remove the battery cover from the bottom of the camera and insert the battery, making sure the contacts on the battery line up with the contacts inside the camera, and then replace the battery cover. Using the supplied lead connect the small micro USB connector to the bottom port on the side of the camera that shows a USB logo and insert the larger USB connector into your computer. The blue light will come on to show it is charging and when fully charged it will go out. Charging will take around 5-6 hours. Insert the Micro SD card into the side of the camera with the gold contacts of the card towards the front of the camera and gently push down on the card. If inserted correctly it will click into place into the side of the camera. To turn the camera on press and hold the power/mode button until the welcome screen appears then release the button. To turn the camera off again press the button until the shutdown screen appears and the camera shuts down. 4

Overview After turning the camera on it will start up with the default video record function. Quick single presses of the Power/Mode button will cycle through the following functions in this order : Video - Photo - Burst Photo - Time Lapse - Video Playback - Photo Playback - Setting Menu Video - Record video Photo - Capture a single photo Burst Photo - Capture a quick series of photographs Time Lapse - Shoots a series of photo s at set intervals Video Playback - Playback any recorded videos Photo playback - Playback any photographs taken Settings - Adjust camera setting, resolution, etc. 5

Modes To record a video check camera is in Video Mode and you should see an icon of a video camera in the top left hand corner. If this icon doesn t show keep quickly pressing the Power/Mode button until it is set in Video Mode. To start recording quickly press the Shutter/Select button on the top of the camera and you will hear a beep, the video icon will turn red and a timer will appear on the screen to show it is recording. To stop recording quickly press the Shutter/Select button and it will stop recording and the icon will return to white. To capture a photo check the camera is in Photo Mode and you should see a camera icon in the top left hand corner. If this icon doesn t show keep quickly pressing the Power/Mode button until it is set in photo mode. To take a photo quickly press the Shutter/Select button on the top of the camera and you will hear a shutter sound to confirm you have taken a photo. To capture a quick series of photographs check the camera is in Burst Photo mode and you should see an icon with 3 files in the top left hand corner. If this icon doesn t show keep quickly pressing the Power/Mode button until it is set in Burst Photo Mode. Quickly press the Shutter/Select button on the top of the camera and you will hear a series of shutter sounds to say you have taken a set of photographs. 6

Modes To take time lapse photographs check the camera is in Time Lapse Mode and you should see an icon of a camera with a circle in the top left hand corner. If this icon doesn t show keep quickly pressing the Power/Mode button until it is set into Time Lapse Mode. In this mode you can set it to take a single picture after 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 seconds. To take a single time lapse picture press the Shutter/Select button, a timer will start to countdown and then take the photograph. If the camera is set to Continuous Lapse Mode after you have pressed the Shutter/Select button, a timer will count down every 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 seconds and then take a photograph, then the counter will re-start. The camera will continue to take pictures until you press the Shutter/Select to stop. To view the videos and photographs you have taken, quickly press the Power/Mode button until the setting menu appears and the video icon is highlighted in yellow. Another quick press will highlight the photo icon to show you have selected Photo Playback Mode. To view recorded videos press the Shutter/Select button to enter the selected mode and an image of the first video will appear. A quick press of the Power/Mode button will cycle through the stored videos, and then press the Shutter/Select button to start playing the selected video. To view photographs press the Shutter/Select button to enter the Photo Playback Mode and the first photograph will appear. A quick press of the Power/Mode button will cycle through the photographs. 7

Modes To enter the Settings Mode quickly press the Power/Mode button until the setting menu appears and keep pressing it until the setting icon is highlighted in yellow. Press the Shutter/Select button to enter the setting mode. From here you can cycle through the following sub menu s to adjust various settings on the camera. These are :- Resolution - Looping video - Time Stamp - Exposure - Photo Resolution - Burst Photo - Time Lapse - Continuous Lapse - Power Frequency - Language - Date and Time - Sound - Upside down (Rotate) - Screen Saver -Power Saver - Format - Reset - Version. A quick press of the Shutter/Select button will take you into the various options for each menu where you can adjust them to your personal preference. Press the wireless button to return to the previous screen. 8

Wireless You can use an app to control the camera remotely via a smartphone or tablet. You will have full control of the camera, live preview, playback of videos and more. Download the EZ icam app from your app store and allow it to install. Make sure your phone/tablet has the Wi-Fi turned on, then open the app and turn on the camera. On the app press the Add device, button, then on the side of the camera press the wireless button to begin the pairing process. After a few seconds a network called ICAM-MAXTEK should show in your available Wi-Fi networks. Select this network and enter the password when prompted. When connected, the screen on the camera will show Wi-Fi connection ready!. Quickly press the wireless button to go back to normal camera operation. From the app you can select the camera then switch between video and camera mode, take pictures, view stored videos or photographs, delete videos or photographs, adjust resolution etc. 9

This product is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for parts and labour. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product the consumer has under existing U.K. laws.
