RAINBOW CANYON PROPERTY Washoe County, Nevada
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS The Rainbow Canyon Property has an area of approximately 421 hectares (approximately 1040 acres) and is located 40 kilometres east of Reno, Nevada in Washoe County. The Property consists of a contiguous block of 100 non-patented mineral claims, 48 of which were recently staked (960 acres/388.5 has) almost doubling the size of the project area. The Property is underlain by mafic to felsic volcanic rock of Tertiary age. Gold mineralization, known in several areas of the property, has been found in altered mafic volcanics of the Alta Formation.
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS (Continued) Gold mineralization is associated with narrow steeply dipping quartz veins that are enveloped by 1 to 10 metre wide zones of bleaching and iron staining, within a more extensive area of argillic alteration. Previous exploration work on the property has discovered a number of quartz veins that carry significant gold values. In a surface prospecting program by a previous owner rock chip samples taken from quartz vein float and outcrops exposed in historic prospecting pits are also reported to have produced assayed significant gold values.
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS (Continued) The Rainbow Canyon Property gold mineralization is thought to be similar in age and host rock type to the nearby Comstock Mine. The Property is situated within the Walker Lane structural belt which is host to several major gold and silver deposits. Here are some of the historical production records: The bonanza gold vein deposits of the Comstock Mine (7.65 Moz. gold and 177.0 Moz. silver), as well as large bulk-mineable goldsilver deposits such as the Rawhide Mine (1.5Moz. gold), and Paradise Peak (1.6 Moz. gold and 22.0 Moz. silver).
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS (Continued) In May 2011, Alba Minerals completed rock sampling of the same sites as were sampled by PacMag Metals (now Entrée Gold Inc) in 2009 in order to confirm the results of the earlier PacMag samples. Results show that of the 30 sites sampled in both years that 20 of the 30 Alba Minerals samples have >0.50 g/t gold and 14 samples had > 1.0 ppm Au with a maximum value of 48.2 g/t gold. These results compare favorably with the 2009 samples where 24 of the 30 coincident samples had >0.50 g/t gold and 19 samples had > 1.0 g/t Au with a maximum value of 20.86 g/t Au. A 43-101 report was recently completed by consulting geologist J.Allan McNutt. The report recommends a $480,000 follow up program including 2,000 metres of diamond drilling.
