DEN NORSKE MISJON MISSION TRAINING PLAN The Purpose of the Mission Training Plan is to train all missionaries on Preach My Gospel in five transfers. Each "Trait" takes a standard transfer six week period. The order that the traits are taken in is subject to the needs of the mission and will be discussed each transferly MLC meeting. Studies Use the Mission Training Plan in your personal studies and in your companionship studies to thoroughly study all the chapters in PMG. Study beforehand the material that will be reviewed in, come with questions and comments for the discussion, and input for the practice. The purpose of is primarily training/skill building. The meeting should open with a song and a prayer and close with a song and a prayer. Assignments should be given beforehand. The district leader is encouraged to ask other members of the district to lead and teach different sections of the meeting. The district meeting for week six is a free choice meeting that the district leader makes based on the needs of the district. If the district leader feels the need, he may move the free choice district meeting to another week and shift the others down. There is only one free choice meeting each transfer. INTRO ITEMS Doctrine Discussion Practical Outline Announcements White Handbook (the next 3 pages) -OPTIONAL- Area Report Should take no longer than 15 minutes. It is a review of what the district has studied in preparation. It's more of an extended spiritual thought. Don't let it go overtime. Should take no longer than 15 minutes and should be directly applicable to the practical. Don't let it go overtime. This is the main purpose of district meeting. Should take no shorter than 30 minutes. Practicals should be taken in Norwegian unless otherwise specificed. If the prompt does not seem applicable create a scenario using the given prompt to work in. Example scenarios are given in the back of many of the chapters. (Example: Ch. 8 pg. 152.) ZLT ZLT will reinforce what the zone has learned through their personal study and district meetings as well as cover other current needs in the mission. It will generally be based off the current Trait and will be decided on in the MLC meeting. Trainers During the first week of your apprentice's mission give them an overview of the Mission Training Plan and show them how it is used in studies and meetings.

The Area Book Practice: Picture yourself presenting your area book to the Lord as you give an accounting of how you have cared for the people in your area. Would the Lord be pleased with your efforts? (PMG 152). Present your area book to the district as if you were presenting it to the Lord. (Can be done in English)

The Role of the Spirit in Language Study Share your language study plan with the district (if no one has one then everyone needs to make one or at least set goals) then provide feedback to help each other with language study and planning for language study. (Can be done in English) Ch. 7 - Learn the Mission Language Introducing the Book of Mormon Introducing the Book of Mormon. How has everyone introduced the Book of Mormon before? What should we include in our introduction? Introduce the Book of Mormon in the ways the district suggest. (Examples: Pictures, scriptures, introduction, personal stories etc.)

Give missionaries all types of scenarios before hand without telling the interviewer (struggling with commandments, confesses sins that would require a mission president to interview etc.) Loving the People PMG 126, everybody do the attribute activity for Love and Charity. Use the scripture on your lowest score and teach someone how we can apply the scripture.

Why should we speak with everyone we can? Discuss the statement: Your faith to find people to teach is demonstrated through your actions. PMG 168 Why should we talk with people, not just to them? Discuss the phrase: Connect before convert in relationship to speaking with people and not just to them. List different ways we can find through our own efforts. (Refer to PMG 167 for additional ideas) Discuss the list and how we can be creative in our finding. Working hard or hardly working? (also included: getting referrals from LA's/RC's) Open Your Mouth Contacting in different finding situations (yards, bus stops, public transportation, etc.) Talking with People Finding by relating non-gospel conversations back to the restoration. Be creative! Finding Through Your Own Efforts Choose a finding method you don t have very much experience with. Practice, review, re-practice. Commit to using the new finding method in the coming week. Banking/Contacting Using different door approaches and asking inspiring questions to get people to talk with you.

Companionship Study PMG 182 Assign individually then practice using the scripture with another missionary. Invite, Promise, Testify, Follow Up. Practice all parts of a commitment for the commandments: Law of Chastity, Word of Wisdom, Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy, etc.
