DEN NORSKE MISJON MISSION TRAINING PLAN The Purpose of the Mission Training Plan is to train all missionaries on Preach My Gospel in five transfers. Each "Trait" takes a standard transfer six week period. The order that the traits are taken in is subject to the needs of the mission and will be discussed each transferly MLC meeting. Studies Use the Mission Training Plan in your personal studies and in your companionship studies to thoroughly study all the chapters in PMG. Study beforehand the material that will be reviewed in, come with questions and comments for the discussion, and input for the practice. The purpose of is primarily training/skill building. The meeting should open with a song and a prayer and close with a song and a prayer. Assignments should be given beforehand. The district leader is encouraged to ask other members of the district to lead and teach different sections of the meeting. The district meeting for week six is a free choice meeting that the district leader makes based on the needs of the district. If the district leader feels the need, he may move the free choice district meeting to another week and shift the others down. There is only one free choice meeting each transfer. INTRO ITEMS Doctrine Discussion Practical Outline Announcements White Handbook (the next 3 pages) -OPTIONAL- Area Report Should take no longer than 15 minutes. It is a review of what the district has studied in preparation. It's more of an extended spiritual thought. Don't let it go overtime. Should take no longer than 15 minutes and should be directly applicable to the practical. Don't let it go overtime. This is the main purpose of district meeting. Should take no shorter than 30 minutes. Practicals should be taken in Norwegian unless otherwise specificed. If the prompt does not seem applicable create a scenario using the given prompt to work in. Example scenarios are given in the back of many of the chapters. (Example: Ch. 8 pg. 152.) Follow the Training Model: 1. Explain 2. Demonstrate 3. Practice 4. Evaluate 5. Re-Practice. ZLT ZLT will reinforce what the zone has learned through their personal study and district meetings as well as cover other current needs in the mission. It will generally be based off the current Trait and will be decided on in the MLC meeting. Trainers During the first week of your apprentice's mission give them an overview of the Mission Training Plan and show them how it is used in studies and meetings.

Disc 3: "Key Indicators and the Area Book" Practice: Share your conversion story, why you re on a mission and what you want to achieve here in Norway. (Go round the district one by one) Key Indicators and Accountability Practice: Call in summary report. Switch roles and see what it s like to be a leader. (Can be done in English) Weekly Planning Practice: and Zone conferences PMG 152. First Bullet point. The Area Book Practice: Picture yourself presenting your area book to the Lord as you give an accounting of how you have cared for the people in your area. Would the Lord be pleased with your efforts? (PMG 152). Present your area book to the district as if you were presenting it to the Lord. (Can be done in English)

Why do we have personal and companionship study? How have you been blessed by your studies? Watch (Optional): The 2: Invitation to Read the Book of Mormon: Alejandra PMG 25, first bullet point. Rate your personal study and discuss as a companionship or district. Then use the same bullet points to rate your companionship study (Include the bullet point We use practicals in companionship study ). Create a study plan for your Personal and Companionship studies. Apply what you found from the test. (Can be done in English) Ch. 2 - Effective Study Studying for investigators needs Studying for investigators needs. Why do we need to study for our investigators? How should we study for our investigators? Why is the spirit so necessary if we want to learn norwegian? How can we seek and obtain the gift of tongues? Watch (Optional): "Prepare to Teach" LDS Media Library PMG 26, second bullet point. Identify a question, find a solution, discuss and prepare with your companion then present. The Role of the Spirit in Language Study Share your language study plan with the district (if no one has one then everyone needs to make one or at least set goals) then provide feedback to help each other with language study and planning for language study. (Can be done in English) Ch. 7 - Learn the Mission Language Introducing the Book of Mormon Introducing the Book of Mormon. How has everyone introduced the Book of Mormon before? What should we include in our introduction? Introduce the Book of Mormon in the ways the district suggest. (Examples: Pictures, scriptures, introduction, personal stories etc.)

Trait 3: Member Work Ch. 1 - My Purpose Establishing the Church in the areas we work -Baptism and Confirmation, pg. 9 -Establishing the Church, pg. 10 The Plan of Salvation (Pre-Earth Life, The Creation, Agency and the Fall of Adam and Eve) Ch. 9 - Finding People The Importance of Members, pg. 160 Charity and Love Ch. 12 - Baptism and Confirmation The Role of Members The Role of Members. Why are members so important in missionary work? What is the role of these specific callings in missionary work? (Bishop, Ward Mission Leader, relief society president etc.) How can we prepare members for lessons? Watch (Optional): The 2 - "Invitation to be Baptized: German" Baptismal Invitation. Why do we invite people to be baptized? Why should we invite people on or before the second lesson? Watch (Optional): The 2 - "The Purpose of Missionary Work: Robles Family" Inviting and preparing members to be present for a lesson. (Give information about the investigator, time and date, what you ll be talking about, how they can contribute etc.) Baptismal Invitation Ch. 13 - Stake and Ward Leaders Baptismal Interview Questions Why do we have an interview before baptism? How can we prepare our investigators to meet the requirements of baptism? What does it mean to love the people? How can we show our love to the people we work with? (focus the discussion on less actives and recent converts) Watch (Optional): "The Ward Mission Leader in the Work of Salvation" LDS Media Library Invite an investigator to be baptized. (Say yes and no and I don t know etc.) Resolve concerns and focus on Invite, Promise and Testify Baptismal Interview. Give missionaries all types of scenarios before hand without telling the interviewer (struggling with commandments, confesses sins that would require a mission president to interview etc.) Loving the People PMG 126, everybody do the attribute activity for Love and Charity. Use the scripture on your lowest score and teach someone how we can apply the scripture.

Trait 4: Finding The Holy Ghost, pg. 90 The Light of Christ, pg. 90 The Plan of Salvation (The Atonement, Spirit World, Ressurection, Kingdoms of Glory) Learn to Recognize the Promptings of the Spirit, pg. 96 Patience and Diligence Ch. 9 - Finding People Read and discuss PMG 152 Fisherman story. Why should we speak with everyone we can? Discuss the statement: Your faith to find people to teach is demonstrated through your actions. PMG 168 Why should we talk with people, not just to them? Discuss the phrase: Connect before convert in relationship to speaking with people and not just to them. List different ways we can find through our own efforts. (Refer to PMG 167 for additional ideas) Discuss the list and how we can be creative in our finding. Working hard or hardly working? (Patience and Diligence) How can we keep our energy up when banking/contacting? (also included: getting referrals from LA's/RC's) Open Your Mouth Contacting in different finding situations (yards, bus stops, public transportation, etc.) Talking with People Finding by relating non-gospel conversations back to the restoration. Be creative! Finding Through Your Own Efforts Choose a finding method you don t have very much experience with. Practice, review, re-practice. Commit to using the new finding method in the coming week. Banking/Contacting Using different door approaches and asking inspiring questions to get people to talk with you.

Find some people and listen to their stories. Think of inspired questions you would ask them and practice with another missionary. Why is commitment so vital in lasting conversion? Why is following up the most important part? Introducing and using a scripture. Companionship Study PMG 182 Assign individually then practice using the scripture with another missionary. Invite, Promise, Testify, Follow Up. Practice all parts of a commitment for the commandments: Law of Chastity, Word of Wisdom, Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy, etc.
