Job Aid: Create the Executive Development Plan (EDP) Creating the Developmental Plan Step 1: From within your performance plan, navigate to the Developmental Plan tool bar in the left column Step 2: Click View Development Plan Part A: Developmental Objectives Step 3: Navigate to the Part A. Developmental Objectives section and click the Add Developmental Objective link Step 4: A pop-up window with a text box will appear - 1-
Enter your Developmental Objective in this text box o You may copy and paste from other sources (e.g., Microsoft Word) Click Save to Development Plan Repeat this step for each Developmental Objective To delete a Developmental Objective, browse to the Developmental Objective you would like to remove o In the Revise column, click the Delete link To edit a Developmental Objective, browse to the Developmental Objective you would like to revise o In the Revise column, click the Edit link o A pop-up window will appear with your previously inserted objective o Make the appropriate revisions and click Update Plan Step 5: To mark a Developmental Objective complete, browse to the completed Developmental Objective - 2-
Step 6: In the Revise column, click the Completed link That objective will appear green in the main window Step 7: Optional: To reverse this status, browse to the completed objective and in the Revise column, click the Incomplete link Part B: Development Activities Step 1: Navigate to the Part B. Developmental Activities section Step 2: Click the Add New Development Plan Activity link - 3-
Step 3: In the pop-up window, working left to right, complete the following: A. Navigate to the Activity Type Column and click the drop-down arrow B. Select the appropriate Activity Type (e.g., Formal Training) C. Navigate to the Development Activity column and type in the appropriate Development Activity (e.g., Attend three-day networking training) D. Navigate to the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQ) Alignment column E. Click the + icon next to the appropriate ECQs of which the development activity aligns You will see a sub-set of competencies from which to choose Select the options that apply to your development activity F. Repeat this process for all appropriate ECQs, if applicable - 4-
G. Navigate to the Dates column H. In the Due Date field, input the date for which the activity should be completed The Assigned Date field is pre-populated for today s date, and can be modified if appropriate I. Navigate to the Remarks column and input additional remarks or comments in the text box J. Once all sections are completed, click Save to Development Plan At least one Development Activity must be saved to complete and sign the EDP - 5-
Part C: Approvals Step 1: Navigate to the Approvals section Step 2: Click the red Sign button at the bottom of the page to acknowledge completion of the development plan EDP is required to be completed and signed in order to complete and finalize the performance plan - 6-
Printing the Development Plan Step 1: From within your performance plan, navigate to the Developmental Plan tool bar in the left column Step 2: Click View Development Plan Step 3: A separate pop-up window will appear with an Adobe Acrobat PDF version of your EDP Step 4: Navigate to the top toolbar and select the print icon Step 5: Print as you normally would from your Internet browser The performance plans can be printed at any time in the tool - 7-
