MANURE PROCESSING IN FLANDERS

Definition of manure processing in Flanders? Main rule: nutrients (N) don t return to Flemish agricultural land Export of poultry manure of horse manure Export of other animal manure than poultry or horse manure Treatment of animal manure or other fertilizers, where the nitrogen is treated in the following way: The nitrogen is not disposed on agricultural land in Flanders, (except in private gardens, parks and greeneries) The nitrogen is converted to N2 The nitrogen is converted to artificial fertilizer
