WELCOME SECRET SISTERS! I am so happy you have decided to participate in the Secret Sisters ministry of caring and sharing with other sisters in Christ. You will be given a "sister" that you will need to pray for and encourage. It is so special knowing that there is someone who prays for you daily and is there to send you an encouraging note from time to time! You are now the instrument that God has placed in her life to give her the encouragement she needs - right when she needs it! "A word spoken in due season, how good it is!" Proverbs 15:23. Secret Sisters is a ministry very near and dear to my heart. I was a participant of this ministry during a very hard time in my life. My Secret Sister was there praying for me, and importantly encouraging me to rely on the Father for all my needs. I persevered and now I would like to be able to help bring to you the prayers and encouragement you need by offering this opportunity to participate. This is a ministry to glorify the Lord by lifting up your sister in Christ. It s not about material things but a way to show love toward your Sister in Christ with a prayer, a card or sometimes just a letter or note to let her know she is being thought of. We are to lift our Secret Sister up spiritually and mentally. It is my deepest hope that you, too, may be blessed with new friendships, inspiration, and a renewed feeling of God's love through the Secret Sisters ministry. Praying daily for your sister will not only strengthen you, but the rewards are immeasurable. I pray the Lord will bless you during this time of prayer and encouragement for yourself and for your sister. Your sister in Christ, Teresa Allan

Secret Sisters Guidelines 1. Know that this is a commitment. The Sister you are assigned is expecting you to uphold her in prayer and receive encouragement through thoughtful gestures for the next 6 months (October-March). If you are unable to fulfill this commitment, please contact me so that your Sister can be reassigned. 2. Uplift your Secret Sister in prayer daily. Praying daily for her will strengthen YOU and the blessings to BOTH of you will be immeasurable. 3. Encourage her. Send cards, notes, etc., to her at LEAST once a month (preferably more!) by placing reminders on each month of your calendar. For the cost of a stamp, you will be brightening her day and reminding her that someone is thinking about her and praying for her needs on a daily basis. 4. Remember your Secret Sister on her special occasions. Mark specific dates on your calendar; include her birthday, anniversary, etc., as well as the holidays. 5. If your Secret Sister's birthday should fall outside of October-March, please select any day you wish and "celebrate" her birthday! 6. Keep her a secret! Don't let her know who you are! 7. Secret Sister Reveal Party! It will be held in April. The date TBD. (Bring one last sweet card or small gift to this...) 8. Any new women who join our church during this 6 month period are welcome to become a participant. Please contact Teresa Allan (216.1963) or Breena Schermerhorn (712.1486). 9. Ideas for encouragement: ANYTHING FROM THE HEART! Cards, thoughtful notes, poems, bookmarks, candy, candles, bubble bath, baked goods, a book, a small gift card (to her favorite grocery store, restaurant, etc.), and anything you make yourself. Review her questionnaire, and remember: it's the thought that counts.

10. How to get things to her: A) Via snail mail, for the return address use Secret Sisters, PO Box 279, Montreat, NC 28711. B) Bring it to church and place it on the Secret Sister table in the Fellowship Hall. C) During the week the basket will be located on the 3 rd floor of the Henry Building in the Church Office. 11. How to address items: When you are leaving a note or gift write: To (insert Secret Sister s first and last name). If you are leaving a prayer request for your Secret Sister, address it: To the Secret Sister of (insert your name). 12. Important: Secret Sisters is a ministry to encourage other women (Sisters in Christ) and keep her in prayer. Gifts are not required. If you feel you would like to give a gift please keep the amount of each gift to $5 or under. Again, don t feel you are obligated at any time to purchase a gift. 13. After our Revealing Party (April or early May, date TBD), we will take a break from Secret Sister emails, etc., from May through September; this will keep the Secret Sister Ministry "fresh" and allow us to anticipate its start-up each October! Ladies, please, look at this as an opportunity for us to strengthen and grow the prayer and fellowship aspect of our church sisterhood. What better time in our history to know that someone is praying daily and caring for us! Thank you for choosing to participate in this important, uplifting ministry! I will send an occasional email reminding you to remember your Sister. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Anyone NOT hearing from their Secret Sister on a regular basis PLEASE contact us.
