MONDAY 14 TH DECEMBER - AM By Ebony, Husnaa, Macy and Junaya 8P 3 RD SUNDAY OF ADVENT John the Baptist was preparing the people for Jesus coming. He told them to share with those with nothing, take a fair amount of tax and to be content with their pay. The people thought he might be the Christ so he humbly told them the one who is coming is much greater than him, I baptise you with water he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit Gospel Luke 3:10-18 When all the people asked John, What must we do? he answered, If anyone has two tunics he must share with the man who has none, and the one with something to eat must do the same. There were tax collectors too who came for baptism, and these said to him, Master, what must we do? He said to them, Exact no more than your rate. Some soldiers asked him in their turn, What about us? What must we do? He said to them, No intimidation! No extortion! Be content with your pay! A feeling of expectancy had grown among the people, who were beginning to think that John might be the Christ, so John declared before them all, I baptise you with water, but someone is coming, someone who is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandals; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing-fan is in his hand to clear his threshingfloor and to gather the wheat into his barn; but the chaff he will burn in a fire that will never go out. As well as this, there were many other things he said to exhort the people and to announce the Good News to them.

Grace before meals For food and friends and family we praise your name O Lord, For health and strength and daily bread we praise your name of Lord.

MONDAY 14 TH DECEMBER - PM Prayer: Joy-filled Giver of Life, let the anticipation of your birth fill us with overflowing joy. May our excitement and anticipation be a sign to the world that you are always near. Amen. GAUDETE SUNDAY The third Sunday of advent is called Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete means rejoice which is why the third candle on our advent wreath symbolises the JOY Jesus brings to our world. Pope Francis wearing Rose coloured vestments

TUESDAY 15 TH DECEMBER - AM Many people ask why God would allow such poverty in our world if he was all loving but Oscar Romero reminds us this is not the way God wanted it to be. When he created the world he provided enough food, drink and resources for everyone to live happily but peoples greed took over and they took more than they needed leaving others with nothing. SHARE THE WORLD S RESOURCES It is not God's will for some to have everything and others to have nothing. Oscar Romero Prayer: Creator God, forgive us for our greed. Help us to share the many blessings you give us so everyone on earth can live life to the full. Amen. By Jordanna, Emma, Mellissa and Connor 8R

Grace before meals Heavenly Father, we thank you for this food. Feed our souls on the bread of life and help us to do our part in kind words and loving deeds. Amen.

TUESDAY 15 TH DECEMBER - PM THE ADVENT STORY Throughout advent as part of our prayers we will learn about the advent story using these short videos and then reflect on them. WEDNESDAY 16 TH DECEMBER - AM By Naveed, Faneem, Mon, Anas & Kyle 8P SHARE YOUR TALENTS Video (2m8s) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ublazdpu3pg. Jesus used the parable of talents to show the importance of using the gifts God has given us. We each have our own talents which God wants us to use for the glory of his name and the building of His kingdom. Prayer: Heavenly Father, give us the strength and courage to be Your good and faithful servants by using the talents you have given us. Thank you for every good gift you give us, may we never forget our importance in your plan and how much you love us. Amen.

Grace before meals (can be sung to the Adams family tune) O Lord we are truly grateful, for every spoon and plateful, Were sorry when were wasteful, Cause we re you family, do do (click, click) do do Amen.

THURSDAY 17 TH DECEMBER - AM By Johnathan, Marcus, Yakubua, Racees, Kian, Malachi 8P The word Gospel means Good News and it certainly is. The Gospels written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John describe Gods son being born into our world, teaching us a way of love and service to find happiness then dying and rising from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins so we can have life to the full in this world and the next. SHARE THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS Prayer: Dear God, help us to spread the good news in the way that Jesus and his disciples told us. We do all this for the sake of the Gospel so many people can received the many blessings and messages it contains. Help us to understand the word of Jesus. Amen. "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. Mark 16:15

Grace before meals Bless us, O Lord for these your gifts, which we are about to receive. From your goodness, through Christ our Lord. Amen

THURSDAY 17 TH DECEMBER - PM In Sunday s second reading we hear the reassuring words of St Paul as he writes to the Philippians. He is speaking to us today, God wants us to be happy in him. He is promising us the Lord is very near. He reassures us there is no need to worry just ask God for our intentions through prayer and thanksgiving. Second Reading Philippians 4:4-7 I want you to be happy, always happy in the Lord; I repeat, what I want is your happiness. Let your tolerance be evident to everyone: the Lord is very near. There is no need to worry; but if there is anything you need, pray for it, asking God for it with prayer and thanksgiving, and that peace of God, which is so much greater than we can understand, will guard your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus. Prayer: We say together the word Jesus taught us: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

FRIDAY 18 TH DECEMBER - AM SHARE WITH THE POOR This Christmas give what you can to the poor, either with your time by volunteering at a food bank or doing some charity work or by donating what you can afford to a charity. Prayer: Lord, please help us to share our things with those who need our help and not always think about ourselves first. Amen By Amy, Shannon, Afrin, Rhiannon, Keira and Chloe 8P Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25:40

Grace before meals Father of us all, This meal is a sign of Your love for us: Bless us and bless our food, And help us to give you glory each day Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
