GEOSCIENCES AND GEOLOGICAL AND PETROLEUM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT 2020 STRATEGIC PLAN REVISED June 2015
Rising to the challenge GGPE Department Strategy for Success This document is GGPE response to the university strategic plan statement; Missouri S&T will provide by 2020 a top return on investment among public research universities to students, employers, research partners and donors through extraordinary access to renowned expertise, services and experiential learning opportunities. Three programs - Geology and Geophysics, Geological Engineering and Petroleum Engineering make up the GGPE department. Our department is the only department at Missouri S&T with combined science and engineering programs. Of the over 300 earth science programs, 18 Petroleum Engineering programs, and the 13 Geological Engineering programs in the U.S., five universities have all three programs and only S&T has combined all three in the same department. This document addresses how to build on the rich history of these programs and guide this unique department in the next years. 2 GGPE DEPARTMENT STRATEGIC PLAN
