Instruction manual Babyfix Baby seat Approved according to Group 0+ for babies weighing up to 13kg Tested and approved according to ECE R44 / 04

Important information Thank you for choosing a baby seat from Axon Kids. The team developing Babyfix have more than 30 years of experience in child safety products between us, and we have done our outmost to make this baby seat as safe as possible. The Axon Kids baby seat has of course also been tested and certified according to ECE R44/ 04, the latest European standard for child safety. To maximize your child s safety, please observe the following: Read the instructions thoroughly before you attempt to install the seat. If you have any doubts, please contact your store of purchase, which can show you the correct installation. Incorrect installation means danger to your child. Never mount the child seat in a seat with an active airbag. If you still wish to use the seat, disconnect the airbag at an authorized service center, or if your car is equipped with it, use the key to turn the airbag off. It is important to always note if the car s indicator shows that the airbag is turned off. In case of a car accident, no matter how small, always replace the car seat. It may have invisible damage that seriously affects your child s safety. This is also the reason for why you never should buy a used child seat. Axon Kids recommendation is that you always should buy a new chair in a store. Never use this babyseat in a car seat that is not equipped with an approved tree-point belt. Please refer to vehicle list. Read the instruction manual carefully before you assembly the baby seat. Otherwise you risk to seriously harm your child.

The baby seat s parts 8. 9. 1. Handle 2. Release buttons for the handle 3. Belt guiding hook 4. Cradle skids 5. Belt release button 6. Belt adjust release button 7. Belt adjustment strap 8. Sun protective cloth 9. Handle status indicator 10. Push-chair fixing 10.

4 Adjusting the handle In order to adjust the handle; push both the release buttons located close to the handle s rotation point. At the same time, push the handle in the direction of the arrow (Pic 1). The handle has five different positions to choose from. Picture 1. This position shall be used when carrying the child or when mounting the baby seat in the vehicle. Picture2. This position shall be used when the baby seat is used as a cradle or when assemblied in car. Picture 3. This position should be used when the baby seat is assemblied in the car and you would like extra access to your child. Picture 4. This position shall be used when using the baby seat as a cradle or when mounted in a compatible stroller. Picture 5. This position blocks the cradle function and can be used when you don t want the cradle function for example when feeding your child etc.

5 Buckle your child in the seat Put the baby seat on a plane surface and then adjust the handle so that it is according to picture 1 on the previous page. Hold down the button for belt adjustment (Pic 6, B) and at the same time pull the shoulder belt (Pic 6, A) until it is fully pulled out. Then fold away the shoulder belts so that they will be easy to get hold of after you have placed your child in the baby seat. If your child is older then 2 months of age the insert cushion shall be removed (Pic 6, D). Now place your child in the baby seat. Make sure that the shoulder belts run over your child s shoulders. When this is done put the two shoulder belt s locks together and put them in to the belt buckle (Pic 7). The belt locks only fit together in one way. Make sure that the belt is secured (Pic 8). Belts should then be tightened by pulling belt strap (Pic 6, C). Important! When adjusting the shoulder belts on the child seat it is important that you have the child seat on a plane surface. The reason for this is that the child s position could be very different if the seat is angled which may cause that the belt is not tightened enough. Please make sure that belts are properly adjusted to your child and that the belt are not twisted in any way.

6 Adjusting the belt height The height of where the shoulder belt comes out from the baby seat s back should be just below the child s shoulders. Adjusting is done by moving the belt up or down to the next slit, picture 9, in the baby seat s back depending on if you are going to increase the height or decreasing it. Create some slack on the shoulder belt by using the belt adjusting button and pulling the shoulder belts at the same time. Then un-hook the belts from the triangular metal plates on the baby seat s back side (Pic 10). Now you can pull out the belts from the current slit. Then put the belts in a different slit that better suits your child s height. Then hook the belt back to the triangular steel plates. Important! Make sure that the belts are secured in the triangular steel plates.

7 Installation in the car 1. Start by adjusting the handle of the seat so that it is fixed to a vertical position. 2. Guide the car s lap belt through the hooks on the baby seat s front side. Then buckle the belt (Pic 11) 3. Pull the car s shoulder belt around the seat and fix it in the hooks on the rear side of the seat (facing forward in the car) (Pic 12 and Pic 13). 4. Push down the baby seat in the vehicle s seat and then pull the belt as hard as you can to make sure that the baby seat gets the most fixed position possible. Important! The baby seat can only be used in positions where there is no active airbag and where there is 3-point belt system. Do not use any other belt routing then described in this manual. If so you are facing a risk that your child is not properly fastened.

8 Warranty and handling If the baby seat cover is replaced; make sure only to use original products from Axon Kids. If not the safety system could be compromised and may lead to death or injury of your child in case of an accident. The baby seat cover can be taken off and washed in the laundry. Use the handwash -program or similar (max temp 30 C ). Do not use the dryer since this can cause the padding to detach from the cloth. Never use the baby seat without it s cover. The plastic details of the baby seat shall be cleaned with a non aggressive cleaning chemicals such as soap water. Aggressive chemicals like solvents etc may cause damage to the material and by this compromise the safety of the child seat. The parts of the baby seat can be recycled and shall be sorted in compliance with your local legislation. Ask your local recycling center for advice when recycling the product. Do not do any repairs or any adjustment to the baby seat other then those described in this user guide. Our warranty policy is inline with your local consumer agency. Make sure to save your receipt and bring it to your dealer if you have any warranty issues. The warranty does not cover: o Wear down as a consequence of normal use. o Damages as a consequence of incorrect use. All our materials keep a very high standard with respect to UV-resistance (sun light). In long term UV light is very aggressive and will lead to that the cloth will be bleached. This is not covered by the warranty since it is considered as normal usage. Never leave your child unattended in the baby seat. Any luggage or other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a collision shall be properly secured. Producer: Axonkids AB Store this user manual in a safe place.
